Canning Labels - Self Laminating

These canning labels immediately shot to my absolute favorite canning labels after using the first one. As I reuse my mason jars for various things throughout the year after the jam inside gets eaten, I didn't want to spend long amounts of time scrubbing sticky label reside off the sides of my jars. At the same time, I don't like writing directly on the lids--when giving away jams and jellies as gifts, I feel a neat little label just looks better than a permanent marker scrawl on the lid. Previously I had been using "dissolvable" labels and those were a total mess. If my hand was even a little bit moist and I happened to brush against a jar label, it would start dissolving right then and there! And even with non-dissolvable labels, an accidental drop of water on the label could make even permanent marker run.Enter these self-laminating labels! Yes, they're more expensive than other labels but they're the only ones I'll use from now on. You lift up the plastic laminate, write on your label, press down the laminate to seal, and bam! Your writing is protected from liquid splashes, and the label itself is very sturdy--it didn't wrinkle or rip when peeling it off from the sticker sheet or bunch up when applying to the jar. A self-laminating label with its more premium price may make some people roll their eyes, but for me, they're absolutely worth it, and I'll be buying them again!

I can all the time and have used a variety of labels. However, these labels, by far are the best. Simply lift up the plastic tab, write whatever your item is, remove the paper in between (can take a minute to get it to separate) and then add to your jars. I will definitely be ordering more of these as I can all year long. These are also good when using to give the jars as gifts. The lamination protects the writing from water and wearing off. Definitely a plus there.

I always hate how the labels get faint and smearish the more you handle the jar, like herbs, for example. Since these cost a bit more than regular labels, I only use them on jars that will be handled a lot. The food jars that are stored in the pantry can get by with regular type labeling. These are nice for herbs in smaller jars.

I can and love to give a lot of my canned goods away as gifts. These make a nice added something instead of a plain label. They go nicely on top of the jar lid so you just throw it away when you through the lid away so no trying to pry it off the jar.

Definitely do the job they are intended to do! I have clumsy fingers sometimes so I struggled with bubble on some of them, but it doesn't effect their usefulness ( just my OCD)! Would buy them again if I can more jam though!

I've tried a lot of canning labels, including fancy ones, and these are the best. First of all, they stay on the jar; second, they come off without using GooGone! A nice feature is that a plastic film covers what you write on the label so that it doesn't get smeared and illegible. Well thought out, attractive, and affordable.

Peel off pretty easily but maintain enough adhesive that I’ve been reusing them!

I'm a repeat buyer of these labels. They are easy to fill out and they self-laminate so ending fading or smudging. Now my home canned items are easily identifiable.
