Great Bowling shoes
I have been bowling for about 4 years. I am not a great bowler, I don't bowl in a league but I do bowl twice a week for fun. My average is about 170 and I started off bowling 1 handed but switched to 2 handed bowling about a year ago. The reason I mentioned this is I believe 2 handed bowling puts a little more strain on a pair of shoes because of the extra force required to properly bowl 2 handed. I started out buy a cheap pair of shoes that worked fine (I still have them). I then moved up to more expensive shoes with replaceable inserts as I got better and needed a more customizable shoe. I bought a pair of Burnswick TPU's which I really liked but they are no longer made. So when they started to wear out I did some research and purchased a pair of Dexter SST 6 BOA shoes. I bought them mostly because of the BOA lacing system. For those that don't know what that is, it is a lacing system that uses a cable and pulley system to lace up the shoes. You turn the ratcheting pulley which tightens a cable that acts as the laces. It is quick and allows you to tighten and the loosen the shoes quickly. I had the same system on a pair of golf shoes and never had any issues with them (i.e. cable or pulley breaking). So far I am happy with the fit (true to size) quality of material and functionality.

Excellent bowling shoes with easy tighten BOA shoe lace twist mechanism.
Today was my first day using my new bowling shoes. I bought this model because of the BOA lace system this shoes has. I was having problems always adjusting my laces when bowling and this takes one less thing to worry about. To loosen or tighten the BOA lace system, all you have to do is pull out the black knob located on the rear of the show and twist right or left to tighten or loosen. Once you have the perfect fit, you push back in the black knob and your laces are locked in. These shoes are a lot wider than my Storm shoes even though mines is not the wide width model. The sole area seems a lot wider than my Storms and felt like I had shoe boxes attached to my feet at first. After the first game, I got use to the feel and the shoe soften up some as the start they felt really stiff and sore on the my area. Today I bowled 9 games in practice and they worked great. I replaced the slide sole with a DIY leather slide sole that is also sold on Amazon. The leather sole really made my slide feel perfect. I did apply some powder to embed into the cowhide as when new the break in period would be longer. After 3 games they felt perfect till my 9th game. No more powder needed as they slide better than the original S8 soles that come with bowling shoes now days. I also carry my spare bowling shoes in my car just in case the BOA laces somehow cut which will make my shoes worthless for the night until getting it fix. The BOA system looks solid but it’s just a precaution for peace of mind. I rate this Dexter SST Hybrid 5 Stars!Update: Downgrade to 3 STARS. I received these shoes from Amazon on March 6th and today is June 12th. About 3 months and 6 days the outside gray coating is lifting and bubbling everywhere the shoe bends. Both left and right side shoes the gray rubbery coating is bubbling and I take care of my shoes very very well. After every use I air dry and use a charcoal moisture absorber to keep my shoes fresh. These shoes work very well and it’s very comfortable to use. The only drawback is the material the outside is coated with. I don’t have any tears in the bubbles yet and it’s only a matter of time it will rip and half my shoes will be flapping rubbery material. I always buy higher end leather bowling shoes and this time took a chance on this Boa lace system vinyl one. If this can be covered under warranty it will be great and if the new one has also addressed the coating problem as well. If not, these shoes will not last 6 months without bubbling all over. 3 STARS!Update: June 15, 2019 I bowled today and just noticed that the right front shoes now has a tear in the rubbery gray material. The quality control on the material chosen is bad. The gray material is either sprayed or heated on like a decal. I gonna try and see if this can be covered under warranty as these shoes are only 3 1/2 months old.Update: November 1, 2019 I just learned that these shoes have a 1 year warranty. I think it’s been about 7-8 months now since purchased from Amazon. The sides are really starting to blister on both right and left shoes. The top portion of the gray soft vinyl paint is bubbling and hanging on by the edges. Seems like a major flaw in that batch of shoes. Another bowler in the same league who got this exact same shoes a few months earlier, his shoes looks like it is wearing normal with zero peeling or any signs of blistering. This bowler also plants when he bowls which puts more force onto the shoes and it still looks great. Will update again on what the Dexter company answers was if covered or not covered under 1 year warranty. If not, I may just peel it all off and respray with some rubbery paint in a different color. That will work too. The shoes is perfect except for the peeling paint.Update: November 29, 2019I submitted a claim with the Dexter shoe company and the process was not too bad. I had to fill out a online claim form and also email photos of the damaged pealing areas. The service department reviewed my claim and said the coating was defective on my shoes and that they will be sending me out a replacement in the black color. I may have a pair from a bad batch as another bowler I know has the same shoes and his silver gray finish is perfect. That is a good shoe company who’s warranty holds true. I will update once more after the shoes arrive with a review. Hope the black finish model don’t peak or bubble. Thank you Dexter Shoe company! Back to 5 Star Rating Again for Great Customer Service!November 30, 2019The replacement new black colored Dexter Boa bowling shoes arrived yesterday and they look same as the gray but in black color. Thank you for the great customer service Dexter shoe company!

Love these shoes!
Really love these shoes.. Had to get some new ones, didn't even realize how they lace up till I got them. Noticed it's a knob on the back, with plastic laces on the shoe.. and you twist the knob and it tightens the shoe. LOVE IT.. cause then you just pull the knob out, and it unclicks them. allowing you to slide your shoe out.

BOA rocks!
Had it for two months and still feel like new. I highly recommend these. The BOA system is awesome! It's the main reason I bought these. They run a bit big, so make sure to get a proper fit before buying. You will be happy with this pair!
