TL;DR: It's not a fix all, but it might be the perfect thing for your situation. It was for mine. The product comes with four inserts, all the same size and all four great Easter colors for what it's worth. Our washing machine has leaked off/on for years. We believe when our stand pipe was installed originally it wasn't installed correctly. Because our floor is concrete with concrete stairs beside it, redoing the drain and stand pipe isn't really an option, so we needed a work around. We bought a Fernco trap connector from Lowes, inserted one of the inserts upside down in the trap connector and then used the cut method that others talk about. Wrapped it around the washing machine hose and inserted into the trap connector. I then tightened down both hose clamps and everything seems to be working great. Milage may vary on this method, but this is what worked FOR MY SITUATION. Please use common sense for your own situation. I suspect this could cause my drain pump to run longer and thus die sooner, but it's a small price to pay for a drain that doesn't overflow ever single time we use it.

Fit perfectly in the drain pipe. Sealed tight around the drain hose and “S” shaped brace. Creates a perfect, tight seal for increased suction and quick drainage with no spills. These things are great and I wish I would have bought this years ago! It comes in a pack of 4, so I don’t know what I’ll do with the other 3, however. Lifetime supply, I guess? Anyway, perfect fit and tight seal. Very happy with it.

I ordered this product to prevent odor escaping from the laundry drain. It fits the box perfectly, but as others have mentioned the inner hole is not tight to the washer discharge hose. I was able to solve this with a little plumbers putty for a tight seal. I don’t think this is perfect by any means, but I could not find a product that was any better. It’s well made so I didn’t want to dock too many stars. I think you will be reasonably happy with this purchase if you don’t expect a tight seal on the drain hose. Good luck

Works perfect to keep my drain hose in place. The drain is a little bigger, so this helps keep it in place when pulling out my washing machine for service. It’s super easy to install. Just put it in the drain and put the drain in.

My washing machine's standpipe was overflowing sometimes when the washer drained. It didn't do it all the time, and by the time I got this product, it had not overflowed in many loads. So it's hard to tell if this little plug would have or will stop overflows, or if the problem has just resolved on its own. Like others have said, there is no reason to sell these in a pack of four, all the same size. A 4-pack of different sizes makes infinitely more sense. Some have said the plug was too loose in their setup, but it was really too tight in my setup. One reviewer who said it was too loose had a one-inch washer hose. My washer drain hose is roughly 1-1/4 inches and it drains into a 2-inch standpipe. I had to really push and pull to get this piece onto the washer hose, and it might take an act of god to get it off. (I'd probably have to cut it off, but that's okay because I have three extra!) The bright side is that it's on there so tight I know it won't fall into the standpipe and cause a clog, which would require an expensive plumbing fix. For anyone who's having a problem with the washer hose coming out of the drain and pouring water all over, this would fix that for you. It seems to hold the hose pretty securely in place. Three stars because that's how I feel about it. If it had really, really stopped the overflows (as it did for some other reviewers), I'd give it four stars. If the drain overflows anytime again, I'll come back here and update my review.

We had issues with water overflow from the washer for years. We just couldn’t figure out what to do about it, even the plumber wasn’t straightforward about what we should do. Just found these after searching for possible solutions and bingo, it works like a charm! You just have to fit it to your washer output and it works great! We’re on our second unit so I’ll say that they might wear out after a while, but it’s inexpensive enough that I think it’s worth the purchase. No breaking/tools needed to put it on your washer output either, so that’s even nicer!

Delay with a leaking washing machine hose for months- it was so annoying. Had 2 plumbers out who could not fixture it- both said there was nothing wrong with my laundry line. Except that it literally flooded every wash. Out of desperation ordered these. Oh my god. Perfection. Solved my problem and have not had an incident since!! Miracle worker!!

Très efficace comme anneau d'étanchéité, je l'ai pris car les eaux usé de ma machine remonté faisant même débordé le rejet d'eau et cela m'a permis de le positionner correctement grâce à ces joints afin d'éviter que le problème ce représente ! Les odeurs on disparu également ! Il est parfait pour la Cuisine ou la salle de Bain. Je recommande, les yeux fermés.
