Very Informative and Entertaining
I've taken up restoring Fender Strats and this guide is the most helpful in determining what features help determine the exact model and range of years it was available. Helps sort out the misguided sellers who don't know, or care, what model they're selling.

Good Stratocaster history
Fender guitar owner and historian. This guide astounds me with respect to the numerous Stratocaster models made and marketed over the years. Fender is not the company I grew up with (pre CBS), and now has surpassed CBS in degrading the Stratocaster to another "model for everyone" brand.Leo wouldn't be proud.

who was leo fender
If you want to know who Leo Fender was and what effort he made to give you one of the finest electric guitars available on this planet, buy this book. Yes, a lot is also available on the internet of course, but they lack all the fine details you want to know if you have a Fender in the house or more..great stuff...i had a 50 catalogue, wished I had it now, their value is astronomical...

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE HISTORY OF LEO FENDER'S CLASSIC CREATION, THIS IS THE BOOK YOU WANT!
I was first introduced to the Fender Stratocaster in 1967 when i listened to the vinyl of a new recording artist by the name of Jimi Hendrix. The first song on the LP;Purple Haze........I had been playing electric guitar for just over a year and not only was I being introduced to one of the most superior artists and legends of Rock, but was captivated by the unique body style of his instrument of choice, the Fender Stratocaster. Five years later I'm playing in the band with my brand new Olympic White Fender Strat with a shining Maple neck and I never looked back. This book by Tony Bacon recaptures the complete history of that "Ultimate Axe," and it's creator, the reverend Leo Fender; along with the effect that particular guitar has had on the music industry. Anyone that is familiar with Tony Bacon already knows he is at the top of his game telling the stories of many famous guitars such as Fender's Telecaster and Gibson's Les Paul. He shares with us all the vital improvements, the ongoing expansion of an art form, and the business and musical decisions that were involved in the evolution of this classic instrument. I have read many books on the creation of my favorite musical weapon of choice but none as complete, as well illustrated and documented as this book. If you want to know the history of this great guitar....THIS IS THE ONLY BOOK YOU NEED!

Get the "actual" book, not Kindle
Really good Strat reference with some nice stories. Lots of great pictures. I wish I had bought the actual book rather than the Kindle version. The images are out of order to the descriptions. I think buying the Kindle version skewed my rating to 4 stars. Perhaps it's a 5 for the hard book.
