Amazingly Accurate Representation of a Classic Building
I consider myself to be an experienced LEGO builder. Besides a number of Star Wars and Avengers LEGO builds, I have built the Ford Mustang car, VW Bus, VW Bug, San Francisco City, New York City, Buckingham Place, Big Ben, Apollo Lunar Module and Saturn V LEGO kits. Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m totally hooked on LEGOs! When the LEGO Architecture Empire State Building (21046) came out, I just knew that I had to own it. I ordered it the very first day it was available. This is not LEGO’s first attempt at modeling the Empire State Building. There was an earlier version (21002) that only vaguely resembled this well known building. A more realistic but smaller version was part of the New York City Architecture set. This version, however, is in a class of its own. It is an impressive build that looks remarkably like the real Empire State Building. It stands two feet high and is hard to miss. With 684 1x2 grill tiles to attach, one might think that this is a tedious build. Actually, that is not the case. It took a good part of the afternoon and evening to build, but it was a totally engaging and fun build. I don’t recommend doing this, but I was able to carry this rather heavy model around holding it by the top of the building. Not a brick fell out. It’s that stable—that’s saying something As for the LEGO Architecture Empire State Building (21046,) in my opinion this is LEGO’s finest model yet. It is a joy to look at and is a solid build. It will occupy a place of honor in my studio where others can see and enjoy it.

I loved putting the Empire State Building together!
This was so much fun to put together. It wasn't particularly difficult but it was especially interesting to see all the components on the inside of the building - I haven't done my research but I am guessing it's pretty close to what it's really made up of. I haven't actually been to the real building in a while so I am not sure. These are so, so expensive and I got lucky with a decent price (RIGHT as Covid quarantining was starting) and it was new. I wasn't sure it would be but I am glad it was because if the pieces weren't separated into the bags by phase so you can follow the directions, it would have been A LOT LONGER to put it together. Now that it's finished I think it looks nice sitting on top of a shelf in my living room. There aren't a lot of LEGO sets I would display but this one works. I wish I could do more of the architecture sets but prices have gone up rapidly!

Such an iconic gift!
My brother recently graduated from college with a degree in Architecture, he's always loved playing with legos as a kid and I think that was one of the main reasons he went on to choose that as his major. It was such a great full circle moment that he's now building legos again but as an actual architect. The product is great, definitely more costly than when it first came out because they no longer make this lego set but is way better than the skyline series. It's a collectors item, you won't regret it!

Great architecture, quality build!
Among my favorite LEGO Creations, solid from the bottom up, sleek in the design, as perfect to the original building as you can get, this LEGO set was a pleasure to build. Received it on a Friday night and was done with it on a Monday, a 3 day build. The NYC structure I’d really like to see created for LEGO is the late, great Twin towers of the World Trade Center, NOW THAT would be a masterpiece of design, not to mention, a challenge for the LEGO design team. But as for the Empire State Building? I’ve always admired its architecture and was like a kid in a candy store when I FINALLY got up there a few years ago when I was in NYC before going to a concert at the Garden, it was an experience I’ll never forget. Good job!
