Item misrepresented
This item is misrepresented. It is not a Topping product. It is an Aimpire copy of the Topping D10. The picture shows a Topping D10, but what is shipped is an Aimpire AD10. Shame on you Amazon.

Works well with Windows and a Mac running Catalina..
Update 2: still very happy with this product. Tremendous bang for the buck. I uninstalled the Topping driver and went with the native Windows driver instead. No noticeable difference in performance and one less third party driver to deal with.Update 1:Assuming that the only difference between the Ampire and Topping product is the external marking, apparently I got lucky and got the Topping version. I've since moved it to a Windows 10 machine and can confirm that it works reliably. With Topping's driver (v4.86) and Foobar, it performs well, a set and forget experience.Original Review:Works well with a Mac running Catalina. Third party software not required. Virtually everything you'll need is in Sound and MIDI settings along with the software you use for music playback.I tried several software players looking for something that allows for a wide range of audio settings - DSD specific settings and sample rate tweaks being the priorities. The only one I found that had the features I wanted and that didn't require a pricey subscription or high buy-in cost was Colibri. At only 5 bucks from the Apple app store, worth every penny.Given that Colibri comes from Apple's app store, it's probably subjected to a higher level of scrutiny than software that doesn't. This means it's less likely to data mine or contain malware. I also tried VOX, JustPlay, Pine Player, Apple's Music app and Foobar. Foobar's my go-to for Windows but for MacOS, Colibri makes set-up and tweaking of audio settings a more user-friendly experience. The D10 pulls power and data from the same USB cable. Output choices are coax, toslink and rca. The provided USB cable works well enough but I went with something that would probably be more durable and function per spec. Tripp Lite's model U023-003 is perfect for a DAC. Well shielded, gold plated connectors, stress reliefs and ferrite chokes. At about 6 bucks, a bargain from a company I've come to trust over a long period of time. There are a lot of DAC's to choose from. After performance, the feature that tipped the scales for me was the display. I like knowing at a glance if the DAC is working, what the sample rate is. The light from the display is soft and muted but at the same time, clearly visible. During normal operation, the display reduces brightness to a point that it's still very readable but not glaring. The screen powers down completely when the pc or mac is powered down, a set and forget experience.I like that Topping makes the D10's internals user accessible to remove and replace the op amp. Nice to know that Topping is reaching out to the enthusiast/modder community. That said, when this unit was tested by an online enthusiast blog, the op amp that comes with this probably isn't worth replacing. The included op amp and the D10 in general performed at a very high level.Great product, great price, happy customer.
