Pink Himalayan Coarse Salt | 2.2lbs

I'm smiling reading the headline. I've been a "kosher salt" user for years, and making the decision to spend a great deal more on "pink" salt took me a few years to work towards. Why spend more? It is just salt, right? Well, it does not taste any different. But it looks pretty. When you are looking at a salt shaker, and it is filled with white "Great Value Iodized Salt", it looks...white and plain. When you are looking at a mill with this pink crystal salt, it really does look better. Aesthetics is the driving force. I don't think the minerals that make it pink actually add any REAL dietary value. Everything that I've read suggests that whatever it is that makes it look "pink" is in such small concentration that any additional nutritional value is negligible, or at best questionable. Because of the expense, I would not use this for cooking. I would not use it for making brines or other "salt water" applications. It is pretty, and it looks much better in a grinder on your table than regular white salt. I think atmosphere is the best reason for purchase...the appearance is striking and pleasant. And it feels rich, which is a very nice feeling for a minimal investment.

I went through a lot of pink Himalayan salt products. I almost bought one, but in the reviews section, one or more people said that the salt was so hard, it broke their grinders. One person provided a picture of some of it saying that it had glass in it. Others complained about a sort of dirty taste (could have been a different product). So after combing through products and reading reviews, I picked this particular pink Himalayan salt. I admit I was prepared to be disappointed, but it has a nice, mild salty taste and none of the crystals are hard enough to break a salt grinder. This salt would work best as a finishing salt, say on caramels or rolls and other things. If I were to use it on food instead of the coarse kosher salt I always use, the flavor and texture would get lost. I like the texture: it is mildly crunchy. I'm going to use it in my salt grinder on the coarse grind option, or possibly whole without grinding it at all. It looks great in my clear acrylic salt grinder, very pretty. I would definitely recommend this brand.

I love this salt. It was when I went to reorder that I noticed that I purchased this on Feb 23, 2020 (it's Nov 19, 2024) & I have only a little bit left in the bag. It lasted long & is as delicious as when I first purchased it. I use this salt primarily for myself. My husband uses Kosher & other iodized sea salt. I highly recommend it. I did not have any issue with clumping in my grinder like others & am reordering today. The price is still right!

Course ground pink Himalayan salt for home grinders. Nice size and texture, grinds easy and the flavor is great. Much better salt than standard fine ground table salt. Nice size package makes it a great value

I love the taste of this Himalayan Salt. We grind just a small amount of this salt on food because this salt seems stronger with all the minerals. It is good to put on with a little honey and of course chocolate. A great taste and healthy. We are not changing back to regular salt for sure. This is a great bargain for the price. Some Himalayan Sea Salt is over twice what was paid for this big bag of Himalayan salt

This has become the only Himalayan Sea Salt I use. 1) The crystal size is perfect for my grinder. Other brands I tried had far too many crystals that were either too large or too small to grind properly. 2) The taste is a nice blend of salt and other minerals. 3) It's always been shipped promptly and received quickly, and in great condition.
