All region format. The first ever 4K restoration of DON't LOOK NOW which was Nicolas Roeg's finest film and, arguably, one of the best British films ever made. Starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, this is a brilliant adaptation of a Daphne Du Maurier short story. On a cold, bright autumn day in Suffolk, England, a little girl in a red mackintosh drowns in a pond - the daughter of John and Laura Baxter. Trying to recover from the tragedy, the couple arrive in Venice, Italy, where John has been commissioned to restore a church. In the eerie atmosphere of the lagoon city in winter, they encounter two strange sisters. Laura is suddenly released from her grief when one of them, a blind psychic, tells her that she is in contact with her dead daughter. Angered and skeptical, John carries on with his work, but witnesses an unsettling vision of his own: a little girl in a red mackintosh disappearing into the Venetian alleys. Available as part of a 4 disc Collector's Edition, with brand new artwork by Jeremy Enecio, inlcuding UHD, Blu-ray Feature, Blu-ray bonus disc with brand new extras and the original haunting Pino Donnagio CD soundtrack. Also contains 5 artcards, new theatrical poster and booklet with essays and original articles. For the 2019 restoration of DON't LOOK NOW, STUDIOCANAL went back to the original camera negative which was scanned at 4K resolution in 16bit and created the following: 4K DCP, UHD version and a new HD version which were produced with the same high technological standards as today's biggest international film releases. The restoration and new UHD version was colour graded and approved in London by the BAFTA Award-winning cinematographer, Anthony B Richmond.

classic but flawed
first let me say one of best 4k done movies Ive seen and i have a lot.the Picture and audio are both fantastic.on the downside studio region locked the Blu-ray discs to region B only witch sucks. the 4k feature is not region locked but for what this thing cost they should have done for all the discs. the goodies with it are cool but like i said this should have been 49.99 price for what you can play unless you have a player that plays region B.would have given 5 stars if the other discs weren't locked.

4K UHD is Region Free. Bluray is Not
So I heard from some reviews that the discs are all region B locked and will not play on region A players. I thought Id find out for myself and spent the hefty price tag and that is only partially correct. The new 4K UHD disc is in fact Region Free and will play on any 4k/Bluray player! But for some pointless reason StudioCanal decided the region lock the Bluray copy and also the Bluray containing all the new special features and those 2 Bluray's will not play on a Region A North American player. On one hand its fine if you have a 4k player you can still watch the film even on a 1080p TV thats what I do and it looks breathtakingly glorious, so I wouldn't be watching the Bluray anyways, but the new 2019 special features is something I was looking forward to seeing and now I can't which is a major disappointment. I dont get why have a region unlocked 4k disc but lock the blurays?? But I'm still happy I bought I have the film in 4K, the soundtrack score and all the extra promo goodies in the box set. So overall I'm happy.

Worthwhile Upgrade From Criterion Blu-ray.
4k disc not region coded, the Blu-ray is region B. This new transfer is superior to the Criterion transfer and well worth the upgrade, though documentary included with set says that they started with the Criterion transfer and cinematographer Anthony Richmond made improvements from there. The reds are now vibrant red. The black levels are improved. Overall a more cinematic transfer on both the UHD disc and the Blu-ray. I bought directly from Amazon UK for much less. Also a few worthwhile new supplements. A must own for Roeg fans. Criterion has apparently said that they will be releasing 4k discs by end of the year and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this as an early 4k release by them. Now I'm hoping for UHD of The Man Who Fell to Earth.

THANK YOU Studio Canal for this gorgeous 4K UHD in HDR10!!!!
This is a short review on the 4K UHD version. The imagery is simply JAW DROPPING!!! The audio comes as Stereo but I was able to use the Surround setting on my audio receiver to simulate 5.1 and it was very smooth and it comes with some, surprising, LFE depth.None of the prior versions even come close to this 4K UHD restoration. The addition of HDR10 color is where the visuals really shine. Just lovely, eye-candy. Unless they, someday, put it out in the upcoming 8K this will remain THE definitive package.I did not feel that all the Extra's (which I do not care about), nor the booklet were that enticing but the Restoration Demonstration is worth the time at only 6 minutes. I watch movies, not Special Features in which it's mostly people patting each other on the back.4K UHD, enjoy with MUCHO confidence!!

If you're a fan - don't think twice!
I can't comment on the super high defnition disc as I don't have the right player, but the blu-ray looks wonderful - the best I've ever seen this film. An important thing for me was the sound quality which has been a problem on all other discs/formats I've owned. No problem! The blu-ray also sounds wonderful and the accompanying CD is well worth having. I hadn't realised how much music there is on the soundtrack and it genuinely has a life of it's own in isolation from the film. The extras are good too but I'm more than happy just to have the film and soundtrack in such lovely condition.
