Good and bad.
Worked for about a week....then just came on in a higher brightness then went into a dim mode. Mine was a single mode!! The customer service part was great, Matt is very responsive to emails and offered to replace it. I know electronics dont always work and sometimes you just get a rotten egg. The only reason I rated it low is that I need this for duty use, and if it fails me just once, never again. I'd give it a go if you're just needing an upgrade. It was very bright.*edit* Matt accepted my return and issued a refund with grace. He even answered questions I had about LED's in general. I purchased another makers drop in, which has been good, bright, but the beam pattern and throw was just never as bright as I remember this one being. I just emailed Matt about a lens issue I had with another seller, and again, so helpful. This alone deserved another star. We talked about the fail rate of these dropins and its quite quite low, a few out of hundreds. And it's exactly as I said, sometimes you just get a bad egg.I'm adding this because I'm going to give it another whirl. I think with the upgraded glass lens I just got will help make this better than it was. I remember it bright, tight hot spot with plenty of throw and a good flood area. If you're a cop carry a small spare light on your belt anyway!!! Don't rely on your primary all the time!!!I'll update after use.

Not so lucky
In sorry I had to return it. I have two mag charger flashlights and it didn't work in either one.It looked very well built, I wish it would have worked . I seen reviews where other people had the same problem.. if it had worked I would have bought more.

Works, but expensive.
The product was easy to install. Lining up the pins was the biggest challenge. My 30-year-old Maglight is brighter after replacing the old Halogen bulb. I deducted one star for the very high price and small scratches. You can purchase Cree lights on Amazon (with higher lumens) for less than the cost of this replacement part. Also, around the top inside of the deflector were several scratches that show up when the light is on. Unfortunately, you also loose the zoom capability. For the cost of this conversion kit and a new battery, I could have purchased a new 1100 lumen Magcharger.

the led is bright, works good with the maglight magcharger, only downside is you cant adjust the focus the beam.

Great product and real quality.
Item was of high quality and fit perfectly. Brightness was amazing. Brought old mag lite back to life.

Excellent upgrade
I was worried about the fixed beam on this when I bought it but it is excellent in beam pattern and brightness. Wish I had upgraded sooner.
