If you draw or sketch, this is amazing. It’s a solid feel and allows you to shade spaces in. You’ll need the sharpener for this unless you use sandpaper.

i ordered this from amazon warehouse deals and am glad i didn’t pay full price. i have a black version of this and was happy with the physical dimensions and weight. i wanted another color to use with a different lead hardness. the size and weight were what i expected, but the fit and finish is somewhat of a step down from my black one, which may have also been an older model. the mechanism is less precisely machined and the paint is thick and sticky. the wood grain doesn’t show through and i ended up wiping the paint off with a paper towel—another testament to the poor paint quality. this lead holder does look a lot better with the paint stripped off and i’m now happy with it. i’m willing to tolerate slightly worse build quality for the sake of having a matching set, but, otherwise, i can’t really recommend this product.

Just like all E&M stuff these are awesome--super good looks and quality--I will buy another, one for a gift for a friend.Great stuff--the only way I could see improving these is if they would put a small eraser in the back/top when you pull the cap off, which acts as a sharpener.

Good lead holder., it feels sturdy and smooth. The only downside is the graphics or lettering on the one I received without E+M logo on it and differs from what is pictured on amazon.

Nice weight and balance. Well made. The wood has a nice feel to it. I’d definitely purchase this again.

The E+M clutch lead holder is well constructed and a joy to use. The round wood body is much more comfortable than the plastic or metal lead holders that are the norm in this 5.5 mm size. Looks good and feels good in the hand. It is currently a little overpriced. It can be found a lot cheaper. It is not made from actual mahogany. There is a mahogany stain on what looks like beechwood.
