Overall, I am impressed. Purchased this holster for my Custom 1911. Built it years ago when I had an FFL07 License, and want only the best for it. The tactical holster is more of a professional buy for me, so I want it to be reliable, durable, and otherwise comfortable. This holster is all three (minus my idiocy that didn't adjust the around-the-leg straps out of the box, and nearly cut the circulation off to my leg). I've read reviews on other sites and such saying these types of holsters have a habit of discharging the weapon upon removal... I hate to imagine shooting near these people. Never have had a problem with it doing so, and yes, I'll admit that I played with this purchase for quite some time when I first got it; pulling the firearm out repeatedly and pointing it at random furnature that I couldn't care-less about (wife NOT happy). Fortunately, nothing got shot (as implied by posts) and so I'm not in the dog house anymore.I will say this, and note that it's still a 5-star rating as you read this, I don't like the positioning of the release mechanism. I don't know if my fingers are just too long or if this was made for a stouter fellow, but I can say that I always over-extend my finger and have to waste another 1/2 second readjusting to pull out the firearm. With practice, I've gotten better at it, but it takes practice.

Fits my 229 Legion SAO perfectly. Easy to draw and reholster. Great system for adjust to the fit for your personal preferences.

I bought this to use as a hunting carry holster for my new 1911 clone. I had aSerpa for the M9 when I was active duty in Iraq and liked the holster then it is not the holsters fault that the 9mm is a garbage round. This version is nice as well. The Y-harness fro the belt makes it comfortable to wear all day if necessary and the low-drop means the pistol is carried at a good height for drawing the weapon naturally. The elastic bands the leg are comfortable, adjust easily, and the rubber coating prevents the holster from sliding around on your leg while walking.The only hiccup I had is that the first several, callit 50-75 times I drew the pistol it kind of caught on the molded holster interior until the holster fully broke in. I don't know if that was a manufacturing defect or if my 1911 is not a perfect clone. After that, the holster worked perfectly with the pistol lock holding the weapon into the holster quite well. I have not had any problems since then. This is a great holster to easily and comfortably tote a large frame pistol around in.

I have one for my 1911 style pistol and this one for my Beretta M9A4. Work perfectly with battle belt set up or rigid belt. Pistol is secure and protected. Excellent value for the money. I would buy again.

I really cannot stress enough how much I like this thing. It is well built, and I use it when I go hiking and bouldering and it stays put, it is comfortable, and keeps my pistol accessible. I weight 150 lbs and i am 5'7 and have plenty of strap left for adjusting. I can sprint at 15mph and this thing has stayed put no problem. The release is quite smooth with little practice. The straps that loop onto your belt are quite adjustable but loose grip the wider the belt since they are VELCRO loops. I would not recommend a belt wider than 3 inches wide (pistol/ tactical belts). It fits my S&W M&P .40 Cal and my GLOCK 23 (also a .40 for those who don't know). Very happy.UPDATEI wanted to edit this and add that it also fits my housemate's GLOCK 22. I have had this thing a few weeks, have taken a few rough wipeouts on some climbing/bouldering and this thing has held up remarkably well. Strongly recommend it.

Seems made well but did not fit my gun

Rock solid rig for carrying my handgun in the field hunting. Top quality, holds firmly and comfortably your leg, and has quick release loops to make it easy to take on/off your belt without having to remove your belt. Best of all is the absolute awesome support from Blackhawk. The locking mechanism on my holster was tight and a bit difficult to release. I called Blackhawk customer support who called me back in a matter of minutes. The gentleman on the phone apologized for my problem and sent me replacement immediately. This kind of support is unheard of these days. Kudos to a great company. I will always buy Blackhawk.
