Velvet, Vol. 2: The Secret Lives of Dead Men

Half of a great team
This is good but not as good as when Phillips is with Brubaker. I don't mean the art either as that's actually better here. But it doesn't have the same realism as when those two work together. I still recommend this, but keep in mind this is the obvious hook to give you two volumes in comixology so you will pay to find out what happens next. If I wasn't so familiar with the other content it would have worked. But if you are going to pay, go for the works of the dream team of Brubaker/Phillips. There is plenty of money to spend in that world before shelling it out for this story.

A Must Read
If possible, I would give Velvet 6 stars! This series keeps getting better and better. Brubaker's writing is amazing and Epting's art and Breitweisner's colors are awesome. Love the action, the framing of the panels and the moody choice of colors. With minimal dialoge, I find myself spending a lot of time enjoying the art and layout. Long live Velvet!

Amazing Story and Visuals
One of the best comics. Had me hooked from the first Vol. and had to immediately read this one. Took a chance buying all three Vol's at the same time.

Don`t waste more time and read it
Once again the creative team guide you into an intense spy intrincated conspiracy and trippy action package that only Brubaker-Epting-Breitweiser can amazingly do. Don`t waste more time and read it!!! Can`t wait to see the next volume!

Excellent!
I loved this story. As I stated in my review of Volume 1, I read all three volumes in less than an hour.

Another Brubaker classic
This is classic Brubaker. The story is engaging, the art from his longtime partner Epting is sublime. The concept is clever and Velvet is a really strong central character.Well done both

A wonderfully stylish spy thriller
A fantastic blend of Modesty Blaise and James Bond. The retro setting is also great. It took me a week to get through volume one; this one I wasn't even able to ration for that long. Only down side - a long wait for volume 3.
