Can you use this yeast for baking?

This yeast is cultured for fermenting ales. It would probably work. But, there are much cheaper alternatives for baking available for 1/3 of the price. I get a 3pack of general purpose bakers yeast for making pizza dough at the grocery for under $1. You can get a 6 pack Fleischman on Amazon for a lot less, too.

what is the best by date on your current inventory?

My packet of SafAle S-33 that arrived in late May had an October sell by date on the packet.
