I bought this because I have super straight hair and really wanted more of a wave and not a curl. I also HATE using curling wands with a passion. Oh man, the waves this made was PERFECTION! I have thick long hair and I was able to do my entire head in less than 30 minutes. I also didn't use any product and the waves lasted two days!! That blew my mind! This does get super hot (I accidentally set it down on my yoga mat and now I have a melted line on it. Oops), so make sure you set it down on something that wont melt (I ended up using a towel). If you want mermaid hair - GET THIS!!!

I’ve had this iron for about 5 years and it still works really well. It’s easy to use, it doesn’t take long to heat up and your crimps come out really flawless. I plan on purchasing another one really soon.

I have collar-length, thin, layered hair which has always been my albatross. I'm 50 years old and this has been the best styling tool that I have ever purchased which actually works on my lifeless and shorter hair. Easy to use, heats up fast, and unlike some of the other popular wavers, this one has numbers on the dial for temperature control settings. Why these manufacturers skip this important detail I haven't a clue; but I digress. Some of the reviews that I read prior to purchasing this contained complaints about how cheaply it was made. May I remind these individuals that this waver costs less than most cans of hairspray? If it lasts me 3 months before replacement I will have zero complaints. And just for the record, in my opinion it's made just fine. I suppose it could be an issue for all of the big $$$ Chi-type product consumers who need worthless names on their products, but I don't feel compelled to impress the neighbors by displaying my styling tools on the mantle I guess.

Best crimper I've owned. I've had three different kinds and sizes and this is by far the best. Its very lightweight and makes it easy to use. Its not big and bulky like most of the ones I've owned. Gets nice and hot. I love the waves it makes. Very natural looking and holds for days! Did my daughters hair thats down to her lower back in about 15 mins and its lasted 3 days! Amazing product!! Would definitely recommend. Nothing bad I can say about it. Shipping was fast too.

I read somewhere a reviewer talk about hair wavers getting too hot, above 250°, not being good for the hair. This one gets way up there, to 400° I think, although the heat can be turned down. However, there is no indication in the instructions what the temperature numbers mean like 15 = 300° etc., just if you have a certain type of hair, set it to XX number. This should be more detailed to give proper information for the users. I found it awkward to have the lock/open on one side of the thing, out of reach, not easy to access when needed. I don't know where else it might be placed but that's not a big deal. Just awkward. The instructions are lacking, I had to go on Youtube to get an idea of how to use it, having no idea at all before buying it. Even so, overall, this is a useful machine. The part of my hair I really wanted help with, the frizzy hair, it made things so much worse and the wave would not hold. At all. I tried higher heat, lower heat - it was a mess. I usually will put the fuzzy or frizzy hair in big curlers before doing anything, thus smoothing out the frizz. In doing that here, even using NO water, after the heat wave use, back to the frizz but worse, now a fly-away problem. I don't know if it 's just my frizzy hair that reacts in this way, perhaps it will work for someone else. One layer of my hair is frizzy, the rest is not which makes things difficult. The smoother parts of my hair got a good wave, unfortunately, that's the underneath side of the frizzy hair. I'll keep this for here-and-there use only. It is a good tool but could use some help with above mentioned issues.

I like the fact I can get a loose perm wavy look without chemicals from a hair perm. And go right back to a straight hair style after washing. No commitment. Thoroughly enjoyed the results of this hot tool, lasted for 3 days easily on my hair, which is naturally stick straight. I suggest, not using the highest heat setting, using a spray heat protection product, a little moose type product on your damp hair while drying to help hold the crimping style. Lastly a nice hair conditioner when shampooing the style out, to help with the heat used on your hair & to gently detangle your precious hair! Definitely recommend this hot tool, to Family & Friends. Watching YouTube videos will help to become comfortable with using this affordable hot tool!

For convenience I purchased on Amazon and thought this like all the items I purchase could be returned. Had I purchased it at Target or Walmart I could have returned it and gotten my money back once I found that it did not work for shorter hair. I had done research and it was one of the ones shown for shorter hair but due to the size it doesn't work and to top that off does not set the waves so that they stay. I tried a friend's waver from a different company and it sets the waves much better. So DO NOT PURCHASE ON HERE FOR CONVENIENCE, buy from a retailer so you can return it and get your money back. The other company that showed for shorter hair allows returns.
