Great knife, awesome value
I only recently got into surf fishing, and needed a good knife after the more expensive knife I had didn't fair to well trying to process a 5 foot blacktip last year. I don't remember the name of the knife I was using but it cost me around $75. It didn't hold an edge, and had to be sharpened at least 5 times while processing the shark. So with another family beach trip looming, and the hope of catching something worthwhile, I started hunting for what would hopefully be a better replacement. Knowing my propensity for tearing up or losing gear, and the fact that in a year I maybe get to make 2 or 3 trips to to the beach, I was looking to spend as little as possible.I read several positive reviews of this knife, and the price was very reasonable if it performed as well as the reviews would lead one to believe. The knife came pretty sharp, but not quite shaving sharp. When it comes to my work knives I'm very particular about having a razor edge, as my life and others could depend on it (LEO). I gave it a run it over one of my finer whet stones, and then gave it a nice stropping. It took the edge very quickly, and after that it would shave the hair off my arm with only the weight of the knife. So off to the beach I went. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. Caught a 37 inch bull red and as you can see in the picture I was thrilled. Other than shark this is the biggest game fish I've taken surf fishing. The knife performed great. Even after processing the fish. The knife still had a razor sharp edge. I processed several other smaller fish including 2 smaller bonnet head sharks and it still has a decent edge that only needed to be retouched after I got home.I also really like the sheath. it has nice belt slots on it that work great with a web belt. The sheath has a positive click to tell you it's in and a solid retention. The handle it very soft and comfortable with a positive grip surface that doesn't fatigue your hands. I plan on getting several other KastKing products to try out.

Knife
I bought the strong optionfor a deterrent/self defense. It seems like a great saltwater knife.Very sharp and solid. It also has a real horror/slasher film type look to it with the curved blade. It’s big.Be nice to carry when diving too.

Good knife, weird handle, horrible sheath
The blade seems good, slightly springy, with a nice protective coating on the blade. I won't know how well it holds its edge until I've used it awhile. Most knife handles that have indentations for where the fingers wrap around the handle have 4 indentations since the thumb does not go there. This knife has 5 finger indentations. Not sure why it was designed that way but to me it feels a little weird when trying to find a comfortable grip. You can hold it "forward" towards the blade or "back" towards the pommel of the handle. Trying to hold it in the middle definitely doesn't work for me. The handle *does* grip well, and would probably do so even if you are wearing gloves, which is important. The sheath is an absolute travesty and the manufacturer should be embarrassed to include it with the knife. Problems include: Belt straps are far too thin for a belt; there is NOTHING to help retain the knife so it falls out very easily; when inserting knife into the sheath it frequently catches on something and won't insert; and the sheath is solid meaning that trying to clean out any fish bits pushed in by the blade is going to be very difficult, possibly leading to leaving harmful bacteria in the sheath and on the blade after it's been in there for a bit. My personal advice is to just throw the sheath away and get a real one somewhere else. The box it came in makes a nice gift box. I would rather the manufacturer had used the money spent on the box to provide a usable sheath.

Great for the price
Priced right, extremely comfortable handle with a little squish when gripped hard but not sticky. Extremely sharp.

Value priced stout 9" fillet knife.
Get beyond the box, great for gifting, but no value to end user. Open up and find the very stout knife that is perfect for filleting out catfish and northern pike. Think of it as a value priced Bubba Blade. Knife is very sharp with the right amount of flex to it. The handle has the right amount of grip to it and protects your hand from slipping towards the blade. The plastic sheath is decent, and locks onto the blade nicely. Remember to push the blade in until it clicks. I like this knife a lot and if the edge stays sharp, I will probably end up getting the 7" fillet and boning knives to go along with it. I would highly recommend.

High Quality fillet knife for a fraction of the price
This knife is amazing. Doesnt matter much but it came in a very impressive box. The blade comes razor sharp and cuts like a dream. Ive cut up roughly 100s of lbs of Alaskan Halibut and other various fish with "high end commercial" fillet knives and and this one cuts just as good if not better. And for this price!!! I have to say I have good size hands (size Xl in most gloves) and this handle is way too big. I'm guessing if your working as a deckhand with the big rubber gloves you would love it but as I'm using it as a enthusiast angler and general home use it's way too big. The handle material is extremely durable and non slip rubber almost a silicone feel with really nice texture. All in all its 5 stars from me. Really nice knife.

Not safe!!
The knife is nice, but the Sheath is garbage. It doesn’t fit on the knife. It slides off which is NOT safe!! It makes it super easy to cut yourself because it does not stay on the knife. I advise you to Buy a better knife with a safer sheath. The looks are definitely deceiving with the sheath. The plastic is crappy
