Great Racquet for $28, Don't Pay $60
This review is for: "HEAD Geo Speed Pre-Strung Recreational Tennis Racquet, 4-3/8 inch Grip"The price Amazon charges for this racquet seems to fluctuate quite a bit. When I ordered it, it was selling for $60, now at the time of this review, it's down to $28! It's a GREAT racquet for $28, but at $60 it's way overpriced for an entry level product.BEFORE YOU BUY THIS RACQUET, GO ONLINE AND FIND OUT HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR PROPER GRIP SIZE! You have to measure the palm of your hand in a certain place to determine the proper grip size. It's best to see an illustration of where to measure your hand, as it's very difficult to describe only in words.Ten years ago I used to play tennis most weeks, but I gained a lot of weight due to an illness and stopped playing for a long time. Buying this racquet was great incentive to start playing again. It's the perfect beginner racquet to learn (or re-learn) the game and improve your skills. I still have my old Head Intelligence i.S10 racquet which was a mid-price racquet ($100+?), so I was able to directly compare the HEAD Geo Speed to that one.I immediately noticed the HEAD Geo Speed to be head balanced, meaning more weight in the head, compared to the perfectly balanced Head Intelligence i.S10 racquet. The new Geo Speed seems to have more return power than the older racquet, which is good for beginners with limited strength. The older Intelligence i.S10 racquet feels lighter and faster, and stiffer than the new Geo Speed, but it's just fine for beginners who are mastering their technique. My girlfriend, who is completely new to tennis, used the new Geo Speed racquet most of the day and she said it felt very good to her. She didn't like the feel of my old racquet as much as this new one, so I thought that was a pretty good testimony for this racquet. We mostly just gently volleyed back and forth, but we both practiced some higher speed serves with the Geo Speed and it did pretty well. I could feel a bit of vibration when I really uncorked a serve or return, but nothing too bad.**** 4 STARS - RECOMMENDED ****

Decent racket
I play tennis just about every week. I still consider myself mostly a beginner, but that may be because the person who I play with is much better than me, so I lose a lot. :) I do have a pretty nice racket that I purchased a couple of years ago at a pro tennis store. Still, I thought I'd give this one a try, mostly because it has a larger head and I wanted to see the difference. The larger head was nice. I did feel like I had a little bit more power in my swing. However, that did come at some cost of precision. I pushed the ball over the back line several times that I might not have otherwise. Also, this one is a little bit heavy. That would be my main concern for someone looking for a beginner racket. Their arm may wear out easily over the course of a set. And, the grip on it is pretty bad. Plan to replace it with something more comfortable soon after getting it.Still, this is a really good racket for the price. It seems well built and durable, and can help with improving the power in your stroke. Highly recommended.
