Bonsai Jack1/4 inch Bonsai Pine Bark Fines, 1 Gallon

I have ordered several different products - several times now- from Bonsai Jack. Each order has shipped and been delivered on time, in perfect condition.I see a lot of reviews stating Bonsai Jacks items are expensive. Yes, they are- in comparison to other sellers products. But- you are getting a TOP QUALITY product. If you’re going to spend good money for your plants, and put in the time to care for them properly- don’t you want to use the very best products to ensure your plants not only live, but live for as long as possible? I DO!I have over 75 plants, from Cacti to Succulents to Fruits and Flowers- and everything is amazing thanks to what I use from Bonsai Jack. This spring/summer- I repotted all my “older” plants (before I found B.J.), and I can’t tell you how much better they’ve been since. (But I can show in pics!) when I buy new plants, which seems to happen a lot lately lol, I only use Bonsai Jack products, and those are growing happily. The health of all my plants is just amazing. And the look great! The growth rate is just…stupid lol….some of my plants have needed repotting before they normally would.If you can’t tell- I am thrilled with my purchases. I will continue to be a repeat customer for a long time. If you’re on the fence- just do it- you won’t be sorry.

Absolutely excellent for adequately draining potting mix. I don't like peat, coir in a potting mix, not even perlite because of how drainage will be non existent if the ratios are slightly off. ive never seen a peat/perlite potting mix that allowed for proper, adequate drainage.However, I have found that the combination of bark along with some long fiber sphagnum moss mixed throughout is quite ideal for what almost all (yes exceptions but) most all potted plants need- media that allows water to freely flow through the holes /yes, I realize there are exceptions/ Overwatering is far more responsible for plant deaths than underwatering (excluding our carnivorous plants and such ) yet all non aquatic plant roots still need plenty of oxygen, sitting water that's hiding in the bottom of a potted plant with sluggish poor draining soil mix = fungus is on its way any day in such conditions.Anyway -the long fibered sphagnum moss does not impede drainage in the slightest, yet it provides a well balanced hydration of cushion-y substance for roots to easily intertwine into. It will be helpful of course to provide whichever method of preference to provide supplemental nutrients to plantspotted in soilless media.These pine bark fines are just excellent and I am confident in recommending this particular kind for anyone shopping for potting mix/improving drainage, etc.

These are very high quality. The price is a little high but they work perfectly. I personally used this product to mix my own soil. It also comes with a metal chopstick as a planting tool. I used to work at a Japanese restaurant and the chopstick given is actually of good quality (but it only comes with one chopstick so if you do want to clean and reuse it for food you would need to buy two bags). This product also comes with a pH testing strip which is very important for planting any kind of plant!

I haven't tried this yet. It was no where close to the size I expected. It really makes it expensive for how much I got

Absolutely the most perfect pine bark FINES I've been able to locate in a long time. These are the perfect size, texture & quality that I require for special potting blends (I'm a horticulturist) that need small bark. If you're need material for a few special plants, a terrarium or reptile enclosure - these are quality and clean. However, if you need to mix large batches of potting medium - this is priced out of reasonable range. I will give Bonsai Jack high ratings for consistently excellent quality products. I'm probably going to have to go back to the slow and tedious process of composting and milling my own for the quantity I need.

These are excellent quality pine bark fines, perfect size. I had trouble finding pine bark fines this size. It works perfect for my bonsai soil added with my other amendments. Rich dark brown color, good quality, love it, just what I was looking for. Delivered quickly and I even had some free samples in the box including a tool that I had never seen that has become invaluable. I use it for everything! Great product and great company. Thanks!!

The product was exactly as advertised.

Loved the promptness of the ship, the product is fantastic. Ordered 2 gallons, came bagged in 2, 1 gallon packages (great for freshness!) and also came with a metal chopstick for kindly separating roots attached to a fun little note explaining how a chopstick is an invaluable tool in plant care. Also had a giant bag tie to keep the opened bag sealed well to prevent spillage. Very thoughtful on both extra items and very pleased with my purchase!! Thanks Jack!
