and costs less than the dealer charges for their paper replacements they love to sell - you know
Worth every penny. The air smells clean, it's of high quality, fits perfectly, and costs less than the dealer charges for their paper replacements they love to sell - you know, the ones we're all too smart to buy because we replace them ourselves by purchasing them for a tenth of a cost on Amazon. Anyway, if you use your AC all the time because you run the AC more than half the year like I do in AZ; then this is the perfect solution so you're not having to buy over and over again those tenth of a cost filters on Amazon that you buy to save from getting gouged at the dealer! Get this life of your car washable filter and be done with it.

Better than Fram Fresh Breeze.
I had plain paper filters before and they suck, then I switched to Fram fresh breeze (2 years) and they were better, but these KNN cabin air filters are even better, they block out fumes more than anything else I ever had, not 100% but still better than Fram fresh breeze filters, and they flow better too, now when I run my fan at speed 2, it feel like it's running at 2.5 compared to paper filters, only thing is they smell a little bit like rubber, but I'm hoping that smell will be gone within a month, but it's OK since it's not strong enough to give me a headache or anything, it's a very, very light smell. I love the fact that those filters have rubber surrounds, it really seals the air filtration compartment, which is probably why it blocks out fumes so well, as opposed to paper filters that just slide in and are loose in there, so that's a huge plus. Other thing is that they don't come with an arrow that shows the air flow direction, so it looks like they can be put in either way, but be mindful of which way the air flows as I noticed that the KNN filter is more bendable one side as opposed to the other, so think of how the air will pull it in and make sure it's in there so that it won't bend when air sucks it down.

Who loves buying replacements?
I've been using re-washable filters for a while now. It only takes simple math to realize, most cabin filters are nearly $20 bucks and they last about 20K or less depending on the terrain you drive in. If you've had to purchase more than 1 filter, this has already paid for itself. Is it going to filter your car air down to 1/10th of a micron with HEPA ratings? No. But even if it did, it wouldn't matter. People fail to realize there are dozens of way air gets into your car through all kinds of small openings in weather stripping, you're firewall, etc. Most re-circulating airboxes don't even have gaskets, its just a little plastic door that closes and you can feel about 5% of the outside air still get pulled into them. You're never going to get the air perfectly filtered in your car. You're just trying to stop large particles from spraying you in the face from your vent.People notice a decrease in air/vent performance because their filters get clogged. This filter is noticeably more open (can slightly see through the pleats), and as a result, I got way more air coming through the vents. I thought I had to replace my blower motor cause the airflow was just so weak prior.Molecules and particles that cause odor will not be filtered; not even a HEPA filter can filter odor particles this small. Odor filtration comes through activated carbon found in specific air filters.Bottom line - Filter that will stop dust and most everything else? Yes.Will you feel more air coming through your vents then ever before? Yes.Will you chuckle inside your head when you see someone grabbing a throw away $20 cabin air filter after you got this? Yes.Con - Like others have noted and definitely are not lying, you will smell a slight temporary oil smell. It reminds me of unwrapping a new computer part from its packaging. This is typical of all K&N filters and anything else that has a coating of oil sprayed on it. It lasted for about a week before the air coming through the vents was odorless and fresh. The reason for the oiling - the more open pleats allow for more airflow with less restriction. The oil is sprayed onto it circumvent the openess of it and make it sticky, snatching up all the dust particles flying through it.Decision point - Pay $20 bucks for each replacement filter or live with a slight oil smell each time you wash it and spray it.Only real complaint - I wish this was a dryflow air filter like the ones AEM makes. Simply wash and throw back in with no oiling. Kinda wish K&N would get with the times on this, unfortunately AEM did not make this cabin air filter for my specific car so I was left with K&N. Not disappointed at all by the purchase though. Would recommend.

Great Filter So Far
I bought this for my '16 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, R Spec. The factory cabin filter was replaced about 15,000 miles ago by the stealership for $25.99 with a $139.71 "labor" charge exactly 12 months ago. The OEM filter is little more than cheap paper with two sides glued to rigid rectangle of plastic. Mine was filled with all sorts of dirt, leaves, and pollen. After replacing mine, I saw a immediate improvement on fan flow, as for removing the smell of marijuana when I drive downtown, this filter was not good enough to do so... I ended up buying a gas mask. I don't care what people think! :)

Not bad at all
Fitment was great on my ‘12 Kia forte koup. I can see where people talk about a lot of over gooping on the filter but it wasn’t too bad for me at all. I forget that I even got it doesn’t blow any different than the paper ones but will be cool to just clean it rather than throw it away and buy a new one.

Doesn't filter well
Normally after 12,000 miles, my paper filter would be covered with dirt, dust and leaf fragments. After 12,000 miles this filter seems to capture very little. It captures the obvious leaf fragments which are fairly large. Viewing the used filter with a strong back-light reveals large portions of the filter to be pretty clean with smaller sections black. I assume the black is the dirt captured in the oiled part of this filter. I expected a larger section to be black with dirt. I do not recommend and will be going back to paper filters.I recently watched a YouTube video which tested this and various paper filter brands which confirmed my assessment. Too much of the fine particles gets through this filter.
