Worth the wait!
I ordered these from Eastern Sports on Amazon around mid-December 2013, and received them in the post mid-January due to Royal Mail losing my first shipment, and defects with the second batch of stock. However Eastern Sports were very polite and quick in getting back to my emails. They even offered me free shipping despite these delays being no fault of theirs! The shoes themselves are simply AMAZING. I squat in Converse chuck taylors so was skeptical at how much support these Adipowers could give (seeing as chuck taylors are pretty much flat to the ground). I couldn't have been more wrong. The Adipowers have the solid sole with a slight lip either side of the foot; in combination with the velcro strap it completely locks your foot into place and gives no room for instability whatsoever. This is most evident when you try and walk to the squat rack in these shoes - you end up stomping your way there! Compared to chuck taylors the difference is night and day. There's also arch support which I found useful. You may read different things about Adipower sizing - I'd recommend you go down half a size only! I wear Converse chuck taylors UK size 10 (comfortable for me and not too tight), and the UK 9.5 Adipowers fit perfectly. The heel is solid, the mid-foot is completely locked down, and the toe box is snug and comfortable. If you want a tighter fit you can wear thicker socks. I wouldn't recommend you go down a full size as your mid-foot will hurt from the super tight fit!I can easily see how these are the industry standard in weightlifting and oly lifting. You'll easily smash some PRs in this shoe. The raised heel lets you get deeper without compromising the lumbar positioning but the most important thing this shoe does is give you invincible foot stability so you can explode out the hole. I don't personally do any oly lifts but might give it a go now!If you think getting these shoes for squats/oly lifts is overkill and you'll look ridiculous then you are sorely mistaken. They look great in their bright red; I just wear them with tights srs. Don't worry about what others think, get these shoes, and accelerate your PR/gains progression! That's all that counts. (Haters gonna hate)

Broke in 4 months
Bought these for my husband for Christmas... I went for the best and most expensive Olympic lifting shoes so they would last as we are in South Africa and Olympic lifting shoes are not available here. He has used them purely for his Olympic lifting and the one sole is already detaching from the shoe!!! Surely for this amount of money and a reputable brand they should last more than 4months!!! I am waiting to see if I can get them replaced by the seller or by Adidas and will change this post accordingly but currently I am HIGHLY unsatisfied! After sending them back I would like to add: the service we got from the seller was great and they sent the shoes back to Adidas on our behalf, however Adidas was highly disappointing. They repaired the shoe but did not replace them as they said that it looked to them that the shoes had been used for a purpose other than weightlifting. I have no idea how long the repair job will last but as my husband trains with weightlifters who are at both a provincial and Olympic level they have definitely not been used for anything other than their intended purpose. I don't know how Adidas makes decisions like that as there was nothing from their side to back up their decision. I will never buy another pair of Adidas training shoes, as I feel paying that price for something that breaks so soon and then being told that it is our fault they broke is unforgivable and terrible business practice.
