This book has been a wonderful addition to our home library, especially since my 3-year-old daughter became fascinated with butterflies at school. The book features stunning pictures that captivate her imagination and bring the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly to life. The text is simple yet informative, making it easy for her to understand and learn new facts about these beautiful creatures. She loves pointing out butterflies outside and telling us what she's learned from the book.

We grew our own butterflies and I bought this book to go along with the experiment. It is very detailed, easy and to read, and shows kids a simple way to remember the 4 stages of a butterfly.

The media could not be loaded. We go every year to the Butterfly Exhibit and She loved seeing and watching the butterflies fly around. I saw this on Amazon and sent it to her. They had such a nice learning experience, I would do it again. A wonderful idea for children of all ages.

This book is excellent for young butterfly lovers! It has a lot of useful info and beautiful pics. I purchased this along with the Insect Lore - Butterfly Growing Kit - Butterfly Garden as a birthday gift for a 5-year-old! She loved them both! The kit didn’t have any accompanying info on butterflies, so this book was a great companion piece!

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

We regularly keep chickens, When it came time to get baby chicks I thought it would be neat to start teaching my kids about the life cycle. They are toddlers, so I will have to read this book to them but it is simple enough for them to understand now. It will be a great book for them to grow with and learn to read with. Simple sentences and vocabulary. Great glossary in the back. Pictures that illustrate abstract concepts. I purchased the chicken life cycle and frog life cycle as well.

This is such an amazing book. We bought it to go along with a butterfly garden! I thought it would be a great addition to our learning experience with the live caterpillars and butterflies. I have six kids - and wow - they are just amazed. The book is very helpful. As always, National Geographic is spot on with the beautiful photographs. It is a Level 1 book so it is just right for kids who are beginning to read on their own. My toddler loved to follow along with this book - as well as his older siblings. It has approximately 32 pages and they are each filled with wonderful facts and pictures. Your kids will love it - and they will learn something! Can't beat that.
