A Primer on Korean SeaweedThere's several varieties of nori/laver/gim in Korea, and this product is used for seasoned gim - the kind you brush with oil, salt, and roast lightly on a frying pan or flame. Eaten as a side dish for rice. It's the kind of snack seaweed you see in the stores these days.If you want sushi nori, search Amazon for sushi nori or gimbap nori. 김밥용 is the Korean word for it. Paraegim (this product) is thin on purpose. So if it doesn't say "sushi" or "gimbap" - don't buy it for that purpose.김밥용김 (gimbapyonggim) nori/laver sheets for gimbap and sushi.파래김 (paraegim) and 곱창김 (gopchanggim) nori/laver or seasoned laver or dry fried and seasoned laver flakes called 김자반 (gimjaban). Can be found in both sheets or in large round discs, or pre-seasoned.미역 (miyeok) aka wakame, the long seaweed used for soups and salad. Can be found whole or precut.다시마 (dashima) aka kombu. Thicker seaweed used for making broth or deep fried to make a snack called 다시마부각 (dashimabugak).톳 aka hijiki. Generally eaten as a side dish and are tiny, round, and succulent when rehydrated.

I prefer seaweed produced on the southern coast of Korea.The Wando and Jindo areas are Korea's clean regions where seaweed is delicious and has a deep flavor.

Im a big fan of these and use them for everything from sushi, to soup. Its worth noting that this is a product of South Korea. The sheets are not all perfect and might have pieces missing but I find that to be true of most brands. I always have this on hand, and would recommend it to anyone who likes seaweed.

Non-resealable package with no oxygen absorber. Sheets so thin, they tear in half just pulling them out of the package, lots of flaking debris everywhere, always tearing when rolling sushi. It’s also a different color and flavor than the above two options.

it's incredibly fresh and delicious. The taste is amazing, and I love it so much that I keep two packs in the freezer to enjoy whenever I want. The only downside is that it's slightly thinner than regular nori, so it can tear more easily. However, apart from that, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommended!

cheap and fill my craving for the stuff!

I am an extremely busy sushi chef, instructor and caterer. Over 30 years. I inadvertantly ran out of seaweed laver (nori) right before an engagement and had no time to go through my regular supply chain. Figured great, Amazon can send me a pack by tomorrow.This laver is so so thin, and so full of holes, it looks like Swiss cheese. Many sheets had huge "corners" missing. The quality was beyond strange.I had no idea, until I opened the pack right before leaving to teach my class.I was humiliated. What a disgrace. I doubled, and sometimes tripled the sheets, in order to use them. Thank God my fish and vegetables were pristine and my class was gracious.This is not a returnable product.I live on a lovely farm road, and the pigs and chickens next door will be enjoying the bulk of this item, as it is not fit for anyone who enjoys sushi.These sellers should be ashamed of themselves.
