Olive oil is too thick and too smokey, so if you put it in your candle (any oil candle not just ours) you will start with a nice flame but within minutes it will fizzle to nothing as the oil struggles to soak up the wick as quickly as it burns. So then the flame extinguished leaving a lot of smoke. Spotless and odourless indoor lamp oil is all we recommend and of course we particularly recommend Clearcraft as we no there is no purer lamp oil available. Hope this answers your question.

Q: Can you use Citronella oil in this?

Yes, I think so will be ok,if you add few drops to your base smokeless and odorless clear lamp oil.

Q: Can this be used with citronella oil?

Any fragrance oil may be too light (floats on top of lamp oil or too heavy (sinks to the bottom) We do sell pre mixed oil which will work perfectly.
