Eye opener
I had never heard of anyone being so heartless as to fashion a child in a test tube for the sole purpose of extra parts for a sick sibling, called a "donor child" A sad but awesome movie ,I watched it couple of times I loved it

My Sister's Keeper
Like other reviewers, I watched this after reading the book. I have been putting off watching it for a while because I knew it would be sad, and made the mistake of finally watching it when I was feeling emotional. The storyline is emotive, and I was drawn in quickly, although some of the characters were not as developed as they could have been, and may leave people not knowing their story in the book confused, and those who do disappointed. I was not expecting to like Alec Baldwin as the lawyer, but I thought he did do a good job, although his part was not as big as it was in the book, and I would have liked to see the humour of his various made-up reasons for having a service dog.The young actors in film were all very well played, and I particularly enjoyed the relationship Kate had with another patient.I did spend the last 30 minutes of the film crying, although my tears stopped abruptly at the end of the film when I realised it had been changed completely from the ending of the book. This did make me angry, because it felt like the entire 'point' of the book was missing. Had this film been under another name, I would have given it 5 stars. As it is, I have given it 2 for the acting and the emotion, but in general I am disappointed by this film.

Not totally honest!
I read the book, my 14yr old and 18yr old daughters read the book! Heartbreaking, wonderful, beautiful, gripping! So when the film was made, we obviously wanted to see it. But NOT at the cinema - couldn't let everyone hear and see us all blubbing at the screen! So long-awaited DVD arrives, I sit down with my 14yr old with popcorn and tissues and we count how many times we get tearfull. My daughter about 20, me about the same - mother thinking of her daughter, daughter thinking of her sister - couldn't expect much else! We loved the film. Well-acted, cringey in the right sort of way, and kept to the story really well ... except when it came to the end! Oh the disappointment! My daughter was furious that the ending changed. I cried at the ending, but was still rather annoyed that the directors felt the audience wouldn't be able to cope with the original storyline ending! If you've read the book you will be aware of the twist at the end of the story - and what a brilliant twist, but that doesn't happen - just the EXPECTED happens and that's a little disappointing when you've loved Jodi Piccoult's novel, ALL of it, right til the end! Still, if you haven't read the book, you won't be disappointed - it delivers everything you expect from such a tear-jerking, emotional, sadly often true story. Watch it!

this movie's a keeper
Made me cry so much, absolutely loved it. There's kinda a plot twist thing at the end and my friend and I were in absolute shreds of tears at that point. It touched my heart and I would really, really, really recommend it. It honestly will change your outlook on life and make you appreciate everything you have.Sounds cliche but I honestly love this movie so much

A beautiful story, keep the tissues close by!
I bought this film, knowing nothing about the film, only that it was directored by Nick Cassavestes, who also directored "The Notebook".It's a beautiful story, showing a tale of deep human emotion in an inspirisng film about a loving family challenged - and united - by a child's illness (okay, I got that bit of info off of the back of the DVD, but it is exactly that, I couldn't have put it any better, so why not use the description provided with the movie!!!).I won't go in to detail, I don't want to spoil it for you, but I do highly recommend this film, it does pull at those heartstrings.Be warned, keep a few tissues ready for the ending!!Hope that helps! :o)

I enjoyed the film and I did cry at the end
I enjoyed the film and I did cry at the end. The performances were very good especially the actress who played the sick sister. I cannot say to watch or not as I do know there are many who loved the book but may be disappointed in the film. The film changes some things that are in the book. If you have not read the book you more than likely will enjoy the movie. I am sorry I cannot explain it any better than that.
