Original Bandai Tamagotchi, Gen 1, Mermaid Shell with Chain - The Original Virtual Reality Pet

Bought this for my kids to see what I played with back in the day and it did not disappoint. It brought back so many memories! This is a great little gadget and well loved at home. Well built and will def bring lots of smile/fun to the family.

There's been plenty of versions since I last had a Tamagotchi but now having my own child I thought I'd get one for us and give it a go. I say us, I've done everything. The price when I got mine was 12.99 which I think is a bit of a bargain to be honest and it will probably go cheaper. The instructions supplied don't really give you an idea of what to do but there's absolutely loads on the net on what you can do, I'd completely forgotten everything but I was up and running pretty quickly. Once you take out the strio for the battery you're pretty much good to go, set the time and you're off. There's three buttons which aren't labelled but the left is choice, middle select and right cancel. Then across the top and bottom of the screen are all your options including feeding, playing and stats etc.. really simple. At first it can be needy but once you get into a rhythm you only need to check it now and again and anything major is notified by sound (it's really annoying) I'd say the only problem with it is the screen can be hard to see at times but it's not too bad. I've really enjoyed having this and I might pick up one of the better models in future. A nice nostalgic trip.

Sadly the remakes all have a minor flaw, its a lottery if the print quality is actually good or not though it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment!

I bought this as a present for my partner's birthday as we're both 90s kids and loved the classic Tamagotchis. I got the comic style shell which I really like the look of. Tamagotchi's are really easy and intuitive to use and are genuine, simple, old school fun. Perfect for kids and 90s nostalgia adults, these classic toys are a great gift.

Took a while to suss out for a 7 year old

This is the classis tamagotchi I remember from being younger. Absolutely LOVE playing on it. Brings back childhood memories. All the features I remember and love the design. It also arrived very quick and well packaged. My only problem is the screen has dots all over as if I have a faulty glass over the screen!

Very good for quality keeps my son occupied. Deafly will buy again from the customer.

This has been glitchy from the start and has now completely stopped resetting so basically useless.
