I bought this book after reading ‘A fortune Teller Told me’ which I purchased while on holiday in Laos. I loved this book just as much. Coincidentally, a friend of mine got diagnosed with cancer just after I bought this book. It was immensely helpful for me in supporting and understanding her journey. She has also read the book and found it very helpful. It may have been written over twenty years ago, but sadly, his political observations are just as accurate now as they were then.

Recommended my friend, Aswani, I happened to read one of the best book I have read so far about a search for one self in the back drop of a terminal disease. Tiziano Terziani, being a famous journalist with more than 30 decades of experience in reporting from the front, does a marvellous job of researching the various alternate healing methods across Asia with un-biased opinion as well as deep insight what goes behind the faith of people on these methods. It is kind of encyclopaedia of healing system, where he touched upon most of the prevalent systems of the time.But most importantly, he began to see the purpose of his life as well as meaning by the time his final days approached. The simple beauty with which he describes his own awakening and his acceptance of death is outstanding.Loved the book. And being an indian, made me feel very proud that he loved our great country.
