Not my favorite
I haven't used any of the recipes so far, I always seem to go back to my Ball canning book.

Great for the beginner
This was my first season canning and I'm hooked!I've made five different recipes from this book and every one of them has turned out amazingly. My husband loved the sweet zucchini relish which made me happy since I made the classic gardener mistake of planting too many zucchini plants. The pictures are beautiful and the instructions are perfect.

Check for 7% acetic acid
If you live in the US, you may not be able to find the pickling vinegar used in this book. Around here the picking vinegar is 5%. After searching all over for the 7% acetic acid pickling vinegar used in many recipes such as pickles, I found out that it's a Canadian product. I will try a few of the recipes without this ingredient but I ended up purchasing the Ball canning book so I could make pickles.

Working parents- you want this book.
Great for those that don't have as much "free time" due to work and raising a family.Plus, little money wasted if the batch doesn't turn out.I would recommend it for those listed above and new to canning and a refresher.Great recipes and explanations.

Yummy goodness.
Our family is just getting started with canning, and we've been relying on the old reliable recipes that everyone else uses. I've wanted a book of recipes that are modern and tasty. I saw this recommended from a fellow Canadian food blogger I love, Sweetsugarbean.com, and decided to give it a try. The recipes are simple and delicious, even for the pickiest eaters in the house, yet gourmet enough that you can confidently give them out to friends and family as gifts.

I can't wait to use!
Haven't had time to actually make anything yet BUT I have read many recipes that I can't wait to try. Thank thank you for compiling your book. Description said paperback but I was so delighted that it is a Large paperback. Photography is outstanding as you can almost smell and taste the recipes.

small batch, easy to make
One recipe per page with photo which makes the book easy to use, especially for a novice or small batch canner. Good variety of recipes, interesting but not exotic.

Lovely little book - good recipes and good pictures too
I have made a few recipes from this book. It's well written, gorgeous pictures, and those recipes I've tried have been delicious.Except the whole grain mustard, umm, not my favourite. But the pear & amaretto jam makes up for that, and more. Some GREAT recipes. I'm giving it only 4 out of 5 stars because of disappointing mustard, though. :)Also, the author gives a lot of "basic" recipes, like plain jams... I think she's at her best when she gives interesting, innovative mixes. Like pear & amaretto - it's a mix of flavours, yet a simple one, but it works really well. I've given several jars away as gifts and have received rave reviews.

So far so good
So far i have made only one recipe out of this book (sour cherry jam) and it has been delicious. I cut down on some sugar that was stated but still absolutely delicious! I have many pages in the book marked with sticky notes to try!

SIMPLE RECIPES, WINNING RESULTS!
I LOVE this cookbook! The batch sizes are small enough that I can buy fruit on sale, and make 5 or 6 small jars of jam or jelly with it. This way, I have a wonderful variety of canned food on my shelves, and no one batch was too expensive , nor does any one recipe take long to make. As well, this cookbook has recipes for some unusual combinations...ones I wouldn't have thought of putting together, yet each recipe is a sure winner. I'm making my own mustard, ketchup, sauces, chutneys, marmalades, as well as jellies and jams. This cookbook has it all...a definite winner in my experience and opinion.
