Great for everyday knife tasks
I used to favor much bigger knives than this for "just in case" situations, which so far have never happened. So, I decided to make my life easier and went with this lightweight one.I'm a fairly heavy knife user; on an average day, I probably use my pocketknife at least 20 times. Whether I'm at home, in the shop, or in my backyard, I use it for cutting sausages and bread, spreading butter, cutting air hoses, stripping wire insulation, and removing splinters from my hands. I sharpen the knife almost every other day. This knife has held up very well so far. It's easy to sharpen, the edge holds well, the blade hasn't become flimsy, and it's cheap enough that I don't worry about where and how I use or abuse it.If you need an everyday tool that will get used all the time, this is a good, solid knife. If you are one of those who religiously sharpen knives to cut paper sheets on YouTube videos, I suppose it will work for you too.

Excellent for the money
After owning the knife for a few days, I edited this review and raised the knife to five stars. it's very light, there is no wobble in the blade, and it is respectably sharp right out of the box. I had absolutely no problems opening or closing it, and like other reviewers have noted the thing seems to grow on you. It's lightness makes it an excellent EDC, since you don't even know it's there, and it works great for preparing kindling, carving, and doing other camp chores. Because of the grind it is very easy to sharpen, and I like the way it doesn't look like a "tactical" folder. It's made in Taiwan, in case any one is wondering, so the quality control is better than some countries that things are outsourced to. I would recommend it as a light to medium duty woods EDC, and for the money I haven't found a knife that is designed for the woods anywhere near this price point. If you are thinking about it, go for it. You won't be sorry.

Love this knife
I've had this knife since 2021, love this thing. It's a great knife for carrying, it's sturdy, easy to open and use. May be a large knife if you have small hands, but for my hands it's perfect. The knife uses a scandi grind, it's the only folder I've seen do that so far. Scandi grinds are amazing for everyone because they are super easy to sharpen, and are incredibly sharp. It's a 0 bevel design, the only bevel is the cutting edge. Incredible edge, but not amazing edge retention.

A solid knife, but the thumb studs hinder sharpening
1 big problem on this one; the thumb studs are positioned in such a way that sharpening this blade is very difficult. Other than that this is a great knife, and it is exactly what it says. AUS8A with it's good/bad features; Scandi grind with it's good/bad features; lock back with it's good/bad features.AUS8 is a great budget steel, not as much edge retention as some other choices but it's a fine choice and they know the steel well and deliver a good product.Scandi grind is great for certain kinds of wood carving. But it is not a great slicer (the blades pretty thick to be a great slicer with any grind). Some people find it easier to sharpen, others find it tougher. But this is a great implementation of the scandi grind. And the cold steel tri-ad lock is just rock solid. It feels just like a fixed blade when in use.If they could move that thumb stud somehow so it could be sharpened more easily... Honestly I'm about to just take it off and leave it off. I usually open the knife with two hands anyway, and it really ought to be closed with two hands also. So that's my only complaint. And honestly you can angle the knife and sharpen without removing the studs, but it just frustrates me when I inevitably hit the larger stud.

Great knife all around!
I was surprised by the light weight of the knife, very comfortable and mine was razor sharp just out of the box. So far the quality has been excellent with easy opening and closing of the blade. The clip is very strong and can be removed easily and attached to either side. I really like the look of the knife though I prefer a black blade. Excellent knife for the price and I would buy another one without hesitation!

Good buy!
Just being honest here. Am I thrilled with this knife? No. Am I satisfied with it? Very much. I have several Cold Steel products and I'm pleased with all of them. The sheaths could be better in some instances, but the knives themselves are high quality in my book. The FinnWolf is the first Cold Steel folding knife I have purchased so I did not really know what to expect. It was plenty sharp out of the box. It's a little lighter and smaller in size than I think I expected. Fits in the pocket well and the clip seems pretty securely attached. Smooth one hand opening for either right or left. It locks open and closes with no problem. Be cautious getting familiar with the feel of doing this. Being as sharp as it is, this FinnWolf will bite if you're not careful. If you get this knife for $30 like I did, I think it's a good buy.
