Great life saver on uneven surfaces.
Good product works well on uneven surfaces and have them on all my ladders. Useful indoors as well for stairs. Now looking the an extension leg compression spring online, hard to find anywhere. An employee overextending it popped the spring off a rooftop. Good value for your ladders, these extensions may save you a lot of hassle !

Safe ladder use
I was afraid my project would end in disaster. I was working on the eaves of the house and the ladder footing was at a 10 degree angle. Well, I got a set of these extenders (well made and sturdy), installed them and then levelled the ladder. There was no motion side-to-side or front-to-back. A great product that enhances safe ladder use.

Not cheap but solid, works, and is sturdy
You can get cheaper ones but do you want to trust your life to something cheap? My house painters suggested these to me and they use them at least 5 days a week (I inspected and their 40 foot ladder when they painted). The mounting hardware was there and worked (I had to drill 8 holes, install took 45 minutes). The metal appears to be stainless steel (I store my ladder inside and rarely am on it in the rain). I put these on a 32 foot fiberglass ladder. My house is built into the side of a hill, my driveway is slanted every which way. Climbing a leaning or unstable ladder is suicide. If you paid $600-$800 for a ladder and have slanted footing, finish the job and add solid levellers.

Excellent Product
These levelers arrived quickly and on time. They installed quickly. The rubber pads make them extremely stable, and they are really easy to adjust. I frequently use my ladder on a bank, and they make the ladder extremely stable. With these installed, I feel very confident and much more at ease when I am on the ladder. They are one of the best investments I have ever made!

Easy Install, Solid Performance - Adds Some Weight
Installed on a 24-foot Werner 250 lb. aluminum extension ladder. Installation was simple and straightforward. Some reviewers mentioned issues with stripped bolts, but I had no problems by paying attention to hole alignment and avoiding overtightening. After feeling resistance, I gave each bolt about an eighth to quarter turn more. For accurate drilling, I positioned the unit at the specified spot, marked the centers with a fine-tip Sharpie, used a punch to create indentations, drilled pilot holes, and then finished with a 1/4" bit. The alignment was perfect, and the bolts went in easily. This ladder only needed one washer per bolt for spacing. The levelers themselves are solid and hold the ladder securely. They do add significant weight—about 8 pounds to my 40-pound ladder (roughly 20% more)—and that end feels noticeably heavier. Still, the convenience is worth it. It's far faster and more secure than shimming something under the ladder to get it level. The only concern is the build quality of the feet. While they seem safe, the ball joint connecting the rubber foot to the leveler body feels less robust than the rest of the unit, and the rubber foot is mediocre - not very heavy duty. I’m curious how they’ll hold up over time. Since I only use the ladder occasionally, I’m not too worried, and replacement feet are available if needed. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the levelers. I deducted one star for the added weight and the feet.

Easy to install
I had a problem with my 12 ft. attic ladder that is in the garage because it was too short to reach the floor. Whenever anyone occasionally had to access the attic to service the air-conditioner, they put lumber under the ladder to stabilize it. I knew this was dangerous, so set about finding a solution. A handyman came out to look at it, and after debating about different solutions we decided these "Xtenda-Leg® Ladder Levelers with Rubber Feet" would work. My attic ladder is wooden, but he attached the leveler easily by just drilling holes for the bolts. He had to use longer bolts because of the thickness of the wood, and these levelers are designed for metal ladders. The rubber boots prevent it from slipping on the concrete garage floor. Since their length is adjustable, he was able to leave them on the ladder and close the door when returning it to the attic opening. I was pleased that these levelers were long enough to be used in my situation, they are heavyweight metal that will not collapse under weight, and meet OSHA safety standards. I will no longer be concerned that someone might get seriously injured from the ladder slipping.
