OXO Good Grips 9-Piece Nesting Bowl & Colander Set, Sea Glass

My old collander recently broke - it was really old, and I wanted a plastic one, so that I didn't chip enamel if I dropped it. Or murdered my foot if it fell on me. After way way too much deliberation, I settled on this one. It has super easy to hold handles, and that's a must for me, as my health isn't the best and I can't always hold on to stuff so well. It also has... not sure how to describe it exactly... a scalloped bottom foot, so water can flow out of it easily if it's inside a sink. The foot is not a flat solid bottom. And that was another must for me. So, having met my minimum requirements, I ordered it.I was happlily suprised when it came in. It is thick plastic - not thin and flimsy. It drains really well, and is so easy to clean. No weird nooks and crannies or edges that might harbor bacteria or germs. It's plenty light, but still sturdy, it doesn't wobble and it doesn't bend out of shape like a really thin plastic collander might.It has the added bonus of being really nice looking in person, too. It's exceeded all my expectations. Hope it lasts a long time!

I purchased the OXO Good Grips 5 Quart Colander in Sea Glass. I'm almost 70 years old, and this is by far the best colander I have ever used. It's very sturdy, has a very solid base, lots and lots of slits for great drainage, and the handles are very comfortable. I love the sea glass color! Highly recommended.

My new favorite kitchen items. I acquired this bowl and colander set after using it at my daughter’s home. Its different sizes and nesting capabilities make it easy to store and so functional. From rinsing berries to draining pasta, the colanders work wonderfully and the bowls themselves with lids too,work for so many food prep purposes. They are non slip, stable and lightweight. It replaced a jumble of unmatched unstackable items. They are durable and easy to clean. Highly recommend this set.

I love this strainer. It's large, 5qt, so it doesn't overflow when you dump a pot full of pasta, and I love the color. So much more fun than a plain boring white plastic or stainless steel strainer. But it's the size of it that really makes it special and convenient to use. Easy to hand wash or just pop in the dishwasher.

This thing is sturdy as heck and is beautiful. Seriously, she thick. Looks exactly like the pictures. Gorgeous teal color and it holds a TON. I use it mainly to strain pastas and it handles it no problem. Very easy to clean.

I get so many compliments from people that come over and see these. I love that for the price you got mixing bowls and colanders. Plus, you also get lids with them for the bowls. I use this set on a weekly basis multiple times. It was worth every penny I spent. I really also love this brand.

I replaced my colander with this one. The main reason I did not like my old one was due to the design, the footers had rubber pieces that fit into the plastic mold and they would fall out and then hold water in the footers. The rubber handles also wore out so much they looked like they had been chewed. This one however had a round ribbon like footer with no open areas that water can get trapped in. It is also very durable material and easy to wash, dry and put away.

These OXO Good Grips 9-Piece Nesting Bowl and Colander Set are very nice and manufactured very well. They seem very sturdy. They say that they are automatic dishwasher safe, but I wash my set by hand. I also do not put any hot or warm tomato or spaghetti sauces in them, because I am afraid that they might stain, which, in my experience, happens to most plastic-type kitchen items and utensils exposed to hot or warm tomato and spaghetti sauces. I strongly recommend them. They are not flimsy in any way and appear to be very well made.
