Brain Games Kids: First Grade Spiral-bound – Picture Book, December 1, 2010

I am going to be homeschooling my children and wanted to get something to give me an idea of where to start. This workbook is awesome. It covers a variety of topics ranging from math, reading, spelling, Spanish, French, geography, and how to be polite. I have loved the book so much that I bought the preschool one also for my younger son. The only downside to the workbook is that the answers are on the opposing page so unless you cover it with a paper the child can easily just copy the answers with out learning. Its a simple solution but a little annoying that they didn't think about that and put the answers in the back like most books. Overall I still love the book!

My grand daughters loved the preschool edition that I gave to them . They didn't tire of going through the book as long as we had the time. That is why I bought a higher level for them as well as one for two of my other grandchildren. I would rather buy something like this for their birthday of Christmas because they are learning at the same time as having fun doing it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Nice book and easy to use. The style of the book is great for little children to turn the pages. It has math, language, phonics, anatomy...some are easy and others not so easy. I would say it's a mix between 1st and 2nd grade. The thing with this book is the answers are right next to the questions so you have to fold the book so the questions are hidden, I would have prefer to have all the answers at the end of the book.Also it doesn't start easy and gets harder as you go through the book, it's all mixed.I didn't care for that, because I choose the pages I want my kids to do.I don't know if I will photocopy the question pages.The look of the book was very appealing to my children, lots of colors, pictures and big numbers. Very easy to look at.

My kindergartner loves this book. She asks me nearly every night if we can do more homework. I bought the book for first graders after reading the samples for the the kindergartners and saw that it was what they were already working on in school. It is just challenging enough for her without it being too difficult. I would recommend this to anyone wnating to help their hild advance.

My daughter has enjoyed this activity book is everything in it is fun and educational and does it feel like homework!

I had gotten my son the Kindergarten one and we loved it so much, I got this one. It's a wonderful feeling to have my six year old ask if we can do his math book/questions.

The book is great but I only had the option to buy used. I wouldn't suggest doing that because the book has all the answers circled, some in crayon. Wasn't able to use it as intended. I expected some possible markings, but not permanent.

I got the PreSchool, Kindergarten and 1st grade books. My kids LOVE them. They ask me daily to get out the school books. I have a 2yr old and 5 yr old. These are educational and its great that the kids like them and ask for them all by themselves. The binding is cheap and on 2 of the books (the only 2 we have used so far), it has broken and now if we fold over the answer side, the bottom of the books comes out of the spiral binding. So we use a blank paper to cover it which defeats the purpose of the spiral binding. :(
