Mustad is top in their quality. Price is the price, but decent value on the market. #8/0 for medium to large baits (for big fish). Probably go with a #4/0 or #3/0 if fishing skittish fish you might chum up, or smaller schooly fish. If you're after reef species in the gulf, be sure you are ordering the inline Hooks, NOT offset.

Ive been using these hooks for freshwater and saltwater trips. They get the job done, are strong yet can flex and not break. I have caught ARS Queen snapper and nice sized catfish with these. Highly recommended.

Wow!!!! These are very sharp and sturdy hooks! Caught two 27” Black Drum from the Texas coast on double drop rigs! No issues and hooked in the corner of the mouth!

These hooks are great! I use them mostly for catfishing and they are perfect. These hooks are SHARP right out of the pouch. I have not lost any fish due to the fish dislodging the hook with these. They are a bit hard to remove from the fish's mouth once landed, but it's not too bad.

Bought these on sale, and they're amazing. If you've been on a charter boat in the Gulf of Mexico, you know they use circle hooks for reef fish (like snapper). But it's difficult to find the hooks that they use; a hook where the eye is large enough for doubled 80lb mono/fluoro to pass through, and is also a thick gauge (3X), and is also small enough for vermilion snapper (beeliners). Well, this is it! I like to make my own rigs, especially when going out for beeliners. I'll make one with 4 to 5 dropper loops and I'll use a loop to loop connection for the hooks onto the dropper loops. At one end will go a barrel swivel, and the other has a surgeon's end loop to hold a big weight. It's never failed, and is overkill for vermilion. But I know that if a grouper or amberjack is hungry when I'm reeling in, I'll be able to land them too! I use the 3/0 for beeliners, 2/0 would work great too!
