No, there is no service to dispose of an old fridge. Old fridges should be disposed on in line with council regulations for the disposal of large appliances.

Q: Is it designed to work in unheated areas?

This is my understanding and if I am wrong I apologise. It depends on the temperature. If your unheated area is below 5° you don't need a fridge . If it is above that it should work fine. Freezers have a minimum ambient temperature but I don't think it applies to fridges.

Q: Is the black version without a freezer compartment as i don't want one? there are no pictures of the inside on the black model internally.

Mine is the white model and does not have freeze department no idea about black model
