My Husband is Happy with These Shirts!
My husband likes to wear comfortable shirts when he comes home from work and most of his were pretty worn out. He's a big guy and it's hard to find shirts that fit him without paying a lot of money. Basically, he just wanted some plain shirts for relaxing in at home or using for when he does yard work. I searched on here and found these in his size so we ordered one to see how he liked it.This shirt made by Russell is a pretty good quality shirt! It's made of 100% cotton so it's breathable and fairly comfortable. It felt a bit scratchy when we got it but I've washed it several times already and it's softening up nicely. This shirt is made in El Salvador. My husband is a fairly big guy and weighs about 350 pounds. He usually wears a 4XL so we ordered a 4XL in this shirt for him. It fits him very well. If he lifts his arms, his belly shows but this shirt also doesn't have the tall length. The length from the neckline to the bottom of the shirt is 29 inches in the front for the 4XL. I originally got him the navy shirt and he liked it enough that we also bought him the maroon and dark green colors. The only other color in his size was white at the time and I refuse to buy him white since he's also pretty messy.Overall, we are fairly happy with this shirt! My husband says they are comfortable and I feel they wash up nicely. Since they are 100% cotton (not pre-shrunk), they may shrink a bit but we haven't noticed too much shrinking. For the price, we are happy with these shirts and glad we found them! There aren't any pockets on them and they would be great for anyone who wants a basic, plain color shirt!

An Okay Shirt
All right. This review will be broken down into 3 main parts: the fit, the material, and whether or not I think you should buy this item.*THE FIT*The fit is somewhat large, I bought a small and it fits more like a medium. The sleeves are a bit too long for a small and the length of the shirt is too long for a small. The tee is an athletic fit, so it slightly tapers and fits your chest and shoulders a bit better.*THE MATERIAL*This shirt is made up of 100% cotton, and it is a nice thick material. This is not the softest shirt that I have ever worn, but it isn't the worst shirt I've ever worn either. The material can feel a bit scratchy at times, but after a few washes, the material has broken in nicely and feels a lot softer.*SHOULD YOU BUY THIS ITEM*I definitely think that this shirt is worth the money, but I'm not certain on whether or not you should buy it. You can definitely get nicer shirts for the money (Gap, Uniqlo, etc). If you want something that will last you for a while, but are not too concerned with the material, get it. If you want a cheapish shirt to beat up and toss around, then get it. If you're looking for a softer, more comfortable shirt to wear, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Poor Fit, Uncomfortable, Long Lasting
I bought this shirt to go along with "Purple Shirt Tuesdays" at work, but now I dread wearing it because it just isn't that great of a shirt for me. It's something I wear only to work for those 8 hours then take off immediately when I get home. I usually wear plain or very subtle graphic tees as long as they are comfortable, but this shirt doesn't meet any of my criteria other than being purple.First off, the fit. For a men's large, it is much too wide and a little too short. If the neck opening was any larger, I could literally fit two of myself into the width that this shirt has. When I lift my arms, the shirt comes above the top edge of my pants (which I neither wear at the waist nor sag at the hips). The sleeves also do not sit right at my shoulders. Now you may think, "Maybe he has an abnormal body type." That's not the case. Every other shirt I own is a men's large and they all fit very well at the shoulders and waist and are the right length. [for reference: 6'0" tall, 165 lbs, athletic build]Secondly, the fabric. The fabric is thick, rough, and uncomfortable. For an athletic shirt, I expected something light and comfortable that dries quickly when working out. I find this shirt to keep in heat which is not what I want when I'm doing anything athletic. It doesn't breathe very well aside from the poor fit which lets in air from the bottom (as described earlier). It's also very rough which causes minor chafing around the sleeves if I wear it for too long.Lastly, the quality. Despite my complaints about this product, it will probably last a long time if I decide not to give it away (which I probably will). It's build is very rugged which would be good in some situations (which I am rarely in). Given that it isn't comfortable and doesn't fit well, it probably isn't a good thing that it will last a long time, but I consider it a plus for the manufacturers.Pros:Rugged build qualityCons:Poor fitUncomfortable fabricDoesn't breathetl;dr In short, this isn't the shirt for me and I can't recommend it.

What differentiates these t-shirts from nike and UA t-shirts
Here is what differentiates these t-shirts from most others in terms of fit:If you lay nike or UA t-shirts flat, the sleeves angle down. This fits well and looks good during normal wear when your arms are down by your side. But for athletic activities where you raise your arms, the entire t-shirt will ride up. If you lay out the Russell t-shirts, the sleeves are closer to 90 degrees with the body, making more of a "T". So during normal wear, the material will be a little bunched up under the arms, and maybe less comfortable. But during athletic activities where you raise your arms, these become more comfortable and fit better. So basically, although Nike and UA are supposed to be more hard-core athletic wear, for basic all cotton shirts, these are more comfortable for athletic activities, while the others are more comfortable as a daily wear.As far as durability, I have a bunch of these shirts (i have the dark colored all-cotton shirts) that I wear for basketball and working out that are now over 2 years old. That is over 100 wash cycles. The color is fading a bit, but they are as strong and durable as the day I bought them. They would be my preferred t-shirts at twice the price, but for their actual price, they are a steal.

Color , quality, fit and function. In blue!
Love the color. Bought one to see quality. Then bought nine more. That says it all.

Great for $10
Great for $10. Feels much better quality/looks better than the $10 shirts from Wall-Mart. One of the shirts didn't have the Russel logo on the arm and had a tag on the neck vs the other's having the logo and being tagless but appeared to be the same otherwise. The material is a slight bit thick so it can get a bit warm if it's hot out but it's not to bad. Not sure you can do much better for the price.

Perfect!
Excellent t-shirts for my husband who prefers a thicker fabric. Have washed well, very little shrinkage. With my husband being 6' and with a belly, I ordered the tall which worked perfectly.
