FC5 V2 Fan Controller, 30W x 4 Channels with Changeable Display Colors (Black Faceplate)

I bought this Fan controller after careful review on Amazon, reading all of the reviews and going to various Web sites. I think Lamptron is one of the best manufactures and the quality of the unit backs that up. The unit is well constructed of Brushed Aluminum, the circuit board appears to be of high quality and the leads and connectors are well built. There was one bad pin on one cable that I had to push forward and it is also probably damaged, but it did connect in the end, barely. I just don't have the spare pins or connectors available. Once installed and connected all worked perfectly. I would recommend that labels are helpful in keeping your install straight in your head. I used one of those Dymo label handhelds to label each lead. I put the Temp sensors next to or around the area of airflow to get an idea of the area temperature instead of putting them on heatsinks and such. my motherboard does a much better job on monitoring those areas. But now I can see what my inlet temp is verses what the output temp is. I also recommend to buy splitters and gang two fans where possible to get the best bang for your buy. Also, buy good fans, I went with cheap, but good fans, but the airflow is impacted. I recommend this Fan Controller over the rest, also think hard before you buy a 6 channel, can you do it with 4 and some splitters?

This is a great controller for any fan cooled system. If you don't want to spend all your money on Liquid cooling and also don't like your fans blowing at max speed all the time, this controller will work great.It has amazing color, the red is dark vader Sith red, the yellow is supreme, and every other color combo I've tried is nice and bright without any shadowing or annoying glow.Only problem I've had with it is not really and issue from the product, but do to its small size and my annoying case, i had a hard time screwing it down on the right side of the case because of clearance issues, it is slightly undersized for the 5inch bay and moves around slightly if pulling or pressing on the nobs to hard.If you have and old optical drive it will probably be more stable if you gutted the old drive and fitted the fan controller in side and then mounted it in the bay, for the modders out there this might be cool fix to keeping this extra sturdy.RECOMMENDED PRODUCT

Love the unit overall, took one star away because if fan cables are attached and left hanging with no fan connected, they are open pins that could short out on any metal. Plus side is they do not have to be connected, each fan has a seperate cables attached to controller. Most other fan controllers have an enclosed female fan socket, these are open ! My controller jumps like 50 or more between adjustment, but could be the fans themselves ? Again use mainly to observe temps, and love it ! Would be nice if vendor sent blank male plugs to use on un-used fan connectors if not used. It is not very easy to remove unit from case, to plug in another fan cable later to add if not used.

This controller is really useful. It manages 4 fans and temp readers simutainiously. The color options is really cool too. If you have a color scheme for your build this is added bonus. As for visibility, the LEDs are bright. So far the color I only tested is purple, and it lights up very nice. The readout is clear. Now power distribution is something to be desired. If you have delta fans this controller can handle two at low speeds without much fluctuations. It can handle 3 at top speed though one of the fans may not hit top speed exactly. Still it can handle regular brand fans (rosewill, yateloon, etc) easy.

Fan controller came with physical damage upon opening. A few of the fan cables and molex cables had bent pins. The aluminum face plate of the fan controller had 3 noticeable scratches around the 1st and 3rd knob.Now onto the actual purpose of the fan controller which it does not do very well. It goes from 0 rpm to 1000 rpm, there is no in between. I turn the knob ever so slightly and still goes up to 1000 rpm. What the??? The only time I was able to adjust the rpm was when it was above 1000 rpm.Overall the product is cheaply made, doesn't do its job well. I can't recommend this product. I was only interested in this fan controller because of the physical clean aluminum look and the fact that it shows the rpm and voltages on the front screen but its very disappointing with all the issues. I'm in the process of trying to return this product.I highly recommend anyone interested in this fan controller to purchase a different one. Just trying to help future buyers to stay away and don't make the same mistake that I did.

This fan controller isn't super fancy, but it comes with the ability to set the led color via RGB jumpers and you can easily see the RPM/Voltage. For my needs, this was a quick installation with Cooler Master fans, which I recommend. Since the fans in my case are minimally necessary (I'm running a water cooled system), I wanted them to be as quiet as possible and I wanted them running at different RPMs. This was easily accomplished with this controller, and no more fan noise at all.

It is a great product but it isnt that precise on rpm outputwhat i mean is when you turn it up it moves a lil too fast to adjust so ether run it off on or spend 5 mins to tune it
