EZPLUCKER EZ-151 Stainless Steel Chicken Plucker Defeather Machine

Harvesting home-grown poultry and waterfowl is a difficult but rewarding venture. One cannot short-cut slow grown and pasture raised birds and processing more than a few birds at a time was tedious and time consuming. My husband was skeptical about making the investment in this plucker ...until the first day we used it. Harvest days have become an entirely different experience using the EZPlucker. It works exactly as promised and has helped fill our freezers with fresh and wholesome chicken. We can now efficiently harvest dozens of birds in less time than most people spend shopping for confinement-raise, industrial chicken. We considered building our own plucker; however, when I found the EZPlucker at Amazon, we figured the cost of building our own was greater than purchasing this one. Additionally, three days after we ordered this product, it went on sale. I contacted the seller who--without any haggling at all--refunded the difference. Great customer service!!! Whether you raise 5, 50 or 500 birds, the EZPlucker is a great piece of equipment and will quickly become an indispensible farm-hand on processing day.

This is not a "Made in the USA" product. Although it is made in China, I would rate it better than average quality. The welds are nice, and they are even spray painted. The overall construction is better than fair. I got the model with wheels, but these are a joke. If I was moving the plucker over flat concrete, they may work. Over any type of uneven ground, or grass, they are worthless. I was afraid I was going to break off a leg moving it. Also, the tub and base are made from a thin sheet of stainless metal. The metal has a paper protective film over it. The rivets and "fingers" were placed right through this film, so when you try to take it off, the film gets stuck everywhere. Overall, I am glad I bought this. It was slightly more money than if I built myself a Whizbang plucker, and there is no assembly. The company is not great to deal with. No customer service at all!

I have used this for four rounds of chickens now. It is great. Seeing as I use it in the rocks the wheels are not worth anything. I've found it is better to just do one chicken at a time. The two times I've tried to do two birds at a time I got a lot of skin tearing.

Big plucker. Should be able to do 100 chickens per hour. The chicken plucker could have come with a better user manual. Expect to have to unload this 160 pound unit from the back of the 18-wheeler by yourself. The driver will NOT assist in the matter. Expect to find chrome shavings on the legs that can potentially cause serious injury to your hands when you are installing the wheels.

used it for turkeys under 20 poundstore the skin as it seemed to get ja mmed in the fingers. said the hell with it and plucked by hand in a jiff so the scald was ok. wouln't recommend for turkeys hope itdoes a better job with chickens for us.

This works like a charm, birds come out clean and featherless.... provided your water is hot enough for a really good scald. I find that three chickens is about right for this machine- more than that and I get feathers left on, less than that and the birds get beaten up and the legs break.

Such a time saver. All were impressed. Place 4 birds in and fifteen seconds later you have a bird, free from feathers.

Best investment. Did 10 birds by hand and took about 3 hours, Invested in the EZ 151 and did 14 birds in 1 1/2 hrs including prep time already ordered another 25 birds can't wait to use my machine again
