This chainmail sponge is the best innovation I've seen in kitchen cleanup products. It's easy to clean and doesn't drip once shaken dry. This is good because it won't harbor bacteria and can air dry. This is the power of silicone and metal working together...I believe this will last a VERY long time and replace most sponges for me.It's not just for cast iron but any durable surface such as glass pans, NON nonstick surfaces (or use very carefully---don't use on teflon as it could scratch it), stainless, aluminum, etc surfaces. I didn't expect this, but it EXCELS at cleaning aluminum and steel 'grates' such as pizza screens and air fryer shelvesThis doohicky would get the highest stars except that the inside brick keeps trying to escape from the opening when it's being used. You have to know how to hold it and push the brick back into it's chainmail sock. This could be corrected by having 2 or 3 instead of one clasp to keep the opening closed. I can tell you that the clasp is quite literally, the weakest link

Purchased to clean cast iron griddles round/flat and two sided rectangle. The silicone block is perforated so water can flow through and the block can be squeezed into tighter crannies like on the ribbed side of the two sided griddle. I still have the option to go chain only but the block makes for quicker work. The only enhancement would be a second connector at the top to keep the chain mail in place on the block. The chain mail is a superior way to clean cast iron. Only which I had bought this long ago.

First time you say I love to research items before I buy them. I researched probably 20 similar items before I finally picked this one.Short story = This chainmail and silicone sponge is awesome and allows you to clean your cast iron pan without sopping up all the oil of the pan and griming up a cloth sponge or washcloth. Easy to grip due to thickness of sponge and doesn't slip out of hand like plain chainmail scrubbers supposedly do so, easy to clean, removable sponge with two chainmail clasps (this was hard to find initially), much heftier feeling product than I was expecting.Long Story = A lot of the silicone and chainmail sponges are thinner than the sponge. This one is thick and easy to grip with the hand. It is also a waffle silicone design which allows the food and grime you scrape off of your pan to pass through the spong when you are cleaning it. I intentionally tried to find one's that food could pass through rather than getting stuck on the sponge.I also tried to find one that I could take the sponge out of the chain mail. most do not come with the ability to take the sponge out of the chain mail. I thought this would be cool not only for replacing the sponge if I ever needed to (which I don't plan to cause this sponge is very hefty) but just for cleaning purposes as well. Even though maybe better at being antibacterial than a cloth sponge... I'm sure that I can still get food grime inside if you don't clean it.this particular product has two clips on the side where you can unclasp the chainmail to take out the sponge. I saw a lot of reviews on other products that said if you only have one clasp that the sponge tends to slide out on accident. After using the sponge I could totally see how that would be the case and the two clasps work wonderfully to keep the sponge inside the chainmail.I also saw a lot of reviews that said if you are using The cleaners that are literally just chainmail without a sponge that they are very difficult to grasp and hard to get a good scrub. This product it was definitely beefy enough for me to get a good grip on it and scrub the pan if I needed to.This product was quite a bit heftier than I thought it was going to be. It weighs 5.01 oz and I was surprised at how solid feeling it felt. I tried to take a picture to show you how thick it is in my hand and to show what the two clasps look like.I spent a lot of time researching this before I bought it because it's an expensive sponge compared to a cloth sponge. But I have so enjoyed cooking on my cast iron pans but I thought this would be a great addition to keeping them clean and in great shape. so far I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. As long as everything holds together the way it seems it will, I think the sponge will last me for years and years and years.

I'm impressed. I've used the kosher salt method to clean my cast iron skillet for years, but a friend told me about chainmail. I used it along with the kosher salt, and it worked wonders. Took so much less time to get the stuck bits off my pan. I didn't use too much pressure, trying to preserve the pan's seasoning...just enough to get the thick bits off. Amazing! I wish I knew about chainmail earlier.

This is my first purchase of any cast iron cleaning product. I purchased this after seeing reviews for similar items. The reason for purchasing was due to rust developing on my cast iron skillet.I followed thr directions and found it to clean my skillet easier and faster than my previous method. It was easy to use and did not cause damage. I found the sponge helpful to grip the chainmail and to direct it hard to reach spots. This is a great product and got my skillet clean. I can't believe I never bought one before.

This is an essential scrubber for any cast iron cook. It easily cleans, is easily cleaned, and looks great in the kitchen. This is one of a kind and I won’t buy a different kind!Pros:+ the silicone is sanitary and provides great leverage for scrubbing+ the chain is removable for cleaning the scrubber+ the orange is eye catching and a great look in alternative to typical iron woolCon:- a little on the pricier side.

I bought this to clean my cast-iron dutch oven and it works so well! I barely even have to scrub. It works very quickly and easily, and I have even used it on really tough-to-get spots on my other cookware.Plus, all you need to to clean it out is some warm water and dish soap!

Never bought one of these before for lightly soiled cast iron these work great . I prefer the straight chain mesh for my heavy soiled pans ...Wrinses off easily with Dawn dish soap witch I cannot use on my cast pans
