I have a deep cycle battery in my camper that needs to be kept charged at over 50% while not in use. Is this what I need?

I understand that this charger has a cooling fan and I would like to know if it runs all the time when plugged in or just when it's needed?

The fan on mine only runs when needed. Usually it will only come on if the battery is deeply discharged or outside temps are high. I have mine installed on a boat and have had no problems so far.
