Band size: 18mm If you can only have one watch, this is the watch I'd pick. It keeps very accurate time and can last decades of abuse, wear and water. You can also polish the face and shroud with abrasive toothpaste or fine compound if you get scratches over the years that build up. This is what every watch should be. Simple, easy to use, affordable and reliable. I've washed this in the shower, sink and worn it in the rain and have never had water ingress. I wouldn't recommend swimming every day with it or anything, as water CAN evaporate into the housing, but it's fairly easy to disassemble to clean and dry. Here are the cons: - Get yourself a better watch band. The one that it comes with will degrade from skin oils over the years and eventually break. I prefer fabric straps like nylon bands or hook & loop. - Be careful about storing or using this in temperatures below 30F / -1C. I like it really cold in my bedroom and sometimes the watch can reset at these temperatures. When warmed by your wrist, it can still happen on occasion in very cold environments, such as when riding a bike in cold weather. Keep your wrist covered in those kinds of conditions.

This is the best watch I’ve ever bought. 8 months and still going strong! For the price it’s an incredible buy. I’d spend $100 on this easily. I’m a woman and the watch fits perfectly without the band being awkward. Usually prefer Roman numerals but the switch to this face was comfortable and not irritating. Love the orange light to illuminate the screen. Love that you can adjust the date by day of the week and number, adjust the time down to the second, and tells pm from am. Is light weight. Minimal wear despite wearing 24/7. Only 1 scratch and I bang my wrist into stuff all the time lol. Will buy this watch until they stop making it. Photo was taken at time of review.

Does what a watch needs to do: time, day, and date. Yes, there are additional functions, but who really needs them? Controls are simple and straight forward, face is easily readable, and there is an easily accessed light for reading the time in low-light situations. Past experience with Casio watches predicts good reliability.

I bought this watch so that I can wear it in the shower and while swimming without issues (although I haven’t done the latter yet). Yes, I’m the type of person who likes to know what time it is in the shower. I read the instruction manual and it says not to turn the light on while under water. I have made sure to follow that tip and so far, the watch is as good as new after daily use for several months. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the words “Illumination” and “Water resistant” have faded a bit on the outer shell. Highly recommend this watch if you want something effective, durable, and don’t need smart features. I had a Fitbit (now dead), but now that I know my sleep patterns are fine, I no longer see a need to replace it with another Fitbit. Edit, April 2025: the strap broke off while wearing skate wrist guards :( This isn’t a new setup, so I’m not sure why today was the day the strap decided to come off. I don’t see any pins on the strap or watch face to snap it back into place. Maybe my daily wear contributed to this, but I’d hope not! I always make sure to loosen the strap a couple notches before skating, so it can sit above my wrist guards. RIP, watch

Casio has been making a version of this watch for ages. It is legendary for its cost and durability. I bought it in red, and it looks fantastic. The red is a fire engine red. Its minimalistic and functional design appeals to me - like the notches in the case to keep buttons from being accidentally pressed. The battery lasts for about 7 years. Setting the date and time is very easy to do - if you have owned a digital watch in the past you may not even need to read the manual. I decided a while back that I really didn't need a smart watch, and this basic watch fits my needs perfectly.

I bought another color of this watch as well, I love this watch, it is easy to set the time and very sturdy. It is light weight but also you can see the quality, great display and I love the color!

Great watch. My favorite. Simple and light weight. Easy to set time or date. Wear this I ne more than my g shock, Bulova or seiko. Great price also. I can't believe how much I like this watch.
