The Ultimate Reference Guide To Chrono Trigger

With the Steam and mobile releases its a great time to have a new guide for this classic. Great info abounds in this. Part of a solid series of guides.

I'm somewhat of a collector and already own the original Chrono Trigger strategy guide from Nintendo printed back in the 90s. But I decided to buy this one as well since I've purchased six other guides from BlackNes Guy and was pleased with the quality of those books. However the quality of this book seems to fall a bit short compared to the others. First-off, contrary to the description of this guide, it actually has a minimal amount of color. The description seems a bit misleading when it states that the book is in "full-color". Most of the pages are comprised of black & white charts and text with only a small amount of color added here and there. There are 16 pages of full-color screen shots near the beginning and end of the book but that's about it. If you are looking for a guide similar to the original in which each page is filled with colorful art and illustrations, then you might be disappointed with this book. There does, however seem to be some useful information for playing the game which might be helpful to first-time players. But here as well, there is room for improvement. I briefly scanned thru some of the text and immediately discovered numerous spelling and grammar errors. It doesn't appear too much effort was made to proofread the copy before it went to print.

Great guide to my collection

Not a play through at all. Just info on bad guys and good guys. Brief over view of parts of the game. Will be returning

This is a great reference guide/walkthrough for one of the best Super NES classics ever released. A fantastic RPG that has multiple endings, and this guide will help you see them all. Learn the history of the game, and also the basic gameplay. See and learn the field, map and battle screens, all in color. It goes in-depth to tell about all the stats the seven playable characters have and the stats you will need to know to defeat all of the enemies and bosses. It also has all the information screens that you will need to totally customize your characters for optimal performance. Learn how to use your weapons, items and magic to defeat your enemies in the most effective ways possible. Also, learning what your enemy’s most common drops are can be very helpful throughout the game. The beautiful all color maps with locations marked, comes in very handy also. Overall, a very concise, well written companion guide for a classic Super Nintendo RPG. A must for anyone who wants to know everything about the game and wants it to give up all of it’s secrets. Having read this guide book i now have a better understanding of this role playing game. The Author of the series of guide books he has written including this one has without fail produces guide book after guidebook with such detail that it has taken the guesswork out of how to play each and every game. He is a great writer in his own right and one day hopefully be recognized as one of the foremost authorities on Nintendo retro games.

It said the ultimate guide it was not picture was miss leading no help at all not one thing about how to play the game not impressed with the book

Great guide. Easy to understand and read, simple and to the point. Definitely recommend even for first time players.looking forward to what guides he comes out with next.
