Don't buy
My wife has been a hair stylist for many years, and swears by Wahl trimmers as the best. I had owned a Wahl beard trimmer that did a great job for me for many years. So imagine my surprise when this trimmer would pull and not cut well no matter what I did. It put me in research mode, and I didn't quit looking until I found out why. Pay attention to what I learned.First, go to the Wahl Home Products website. That's at wahlusa.com. Take a look at all the products there, then don't buy any of them. They're all junk. You'll find the same complaints of pulling and not cutting well on all of those products you research. I cannot understand why Wahl would put their long respected name on these terrible products, but they did. Don't buy any of this junk.Next, go to the Wahl Professional Products website. That's at wahlpro.com. That is where the good stuff resides. As you might expect, products there are pretty expensive, but not all of them. I picked out a Wahl Sidekick trimmer and found it for under $34 with free shipping from a West Coast beauty supply. As soon as I tried it out, I could tell this was those same excellent Wahl blades I had liked for so many years. I expect it to last me a long time, just like my old trimmer did. If you want something with more frills than the Sidekick, be prepared to pay more. But buy something with the good blades. Buying a cheap trimmer that won't cut well is not a good alternative.

works great
I bought my first one March 17, 2008. It's been great. I dropped it tonight and finally killed it. I'm glad to see its still made. new one ordered!UPDATEI just received the new one and its WAY louder than the old one. So loud that its painful near my ear. I oiled it and hopefully it will quiet down, otherwise Im going to have to replace it.Update 2. I have to lower my review. This thing is WAY too loud. The first one I had was great, but the new model is terrible.

The blade rusts, wont cut and catches on your beard.
Hello,I purchased this for trimming my beard, which I have managed to do for many many years. I trim my beard with the bare metal back to the skin. This trimmer was very prickly / sharp and uncomfortable, and constantly did not cut the hair but it was caught in the blades. After 1 month the metal bit at the top started rusting a lot - see attached photos. Also, I was away for 1 month, and have used this product about 6 times total. My old beard trimmer was still going after 5 years, but the battery started to go.Would not recommend this product.

Great deal, great for international travel, though a bit loud
I bought this battery powered trimmer for a trip to Thailand (I'm from the USA). I've had a corded 110V Wahl clipper for years that I use to trim my beard down to stubble, but I obviously couldn't use that in Thailand and I didn't want to look like a wild man after 2.5 weeks there. I bought this and a AA battery charger (which works off any wall voltage/frequency, as most chargers do). I didn't even need the battery charger; the 2 rechargeable AAs I put in the Wahl Clipper Groomsman Trimmer worked through several shaves before the trip, and at least 3 shaves during the trip, without recharging. Rechargeable NiMH AA batteries are known to survive better than alkaline AAs for high current draw applications (e.g. in my old point-and-shoot digital camera), so maybe that helped.Other thoughts:This trimmer was smaller than I'm accustomed to, but that's perfect for travel. For traveling, I put the 1/16" (1.5mm) blade guard on it (a good length for stubble) to protect it in my toiletry bag, and didn't bring any other accessories. It's a loud, subjectively twice as loud as my old 110V Wahl clipper. And it's an annoying higher-pitched sound, rather than a low hum. But otherwise it seems well engineered. At $13, I'd pay an extra few bucks for it to be quieter. If quieter, it'd be a 5-star product. The second time I tested it, with a blade guard to get a "stubble" length, it was often grabbing hairs and yanking them out. Ouch! But that's the only shave during which this happened. I wonder if the blade guard wasn't quite on completely/properly. Make sure it snaps into place, and is not tilted/cockeyed; it should be an even distance from the blades across the whole width of the blade.

Easy to work with, even if user manual isn't all that clear
I used this trimmer almost upon arrival because my beard was really out of control. The user manual was a bit all over the place and not quite clear (no indication as to how to place the trimmer piece on the blades), but once I figured it out (and also when I saw how to use different grades for length), it was very easy to use. I don't think I'll ever use the attachments because the trimmer itself is simple and more than enough for my needs. Just for that I can give it the five stars it deserves. Obviously, though, whoever wrote the manual didn't have the trimmer on hand, so I won't hold it against the product or the manufacturer.

Yeah its LOUD
I also bought this to replace one from years ago, and I'm going to return the unit for two reasons. If it helps, I use it to buzz my head once or twice a week.First, it's LOUD! Yes, all the other people that mention its loud are correct. Its really so loud it is not comfortable to use. I woke my wife up using it the other day.Second is I just don't think its a tight cut, and the head seems small, so you have to make more passes. The one I had years ago gave me one of my tightest cuts, and this isn't as close.I'll now start my search again for a battery-operated trimmer for my head.

Don't plan on going anywhere for a few hours if you're going to shave with this thing
This was a terrible buy. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because it does what it says and trims my beard. This thing takes forever to shave my beard, which would be fine if not right out of the box I have to leave it on the charger for a half an hour each time before use, then leave it plugged in so I can shave for about two minutes (I've timed it) before it dies, then let it sit for another half an hour or so. One time I left it on the charger over night but it still only lasted about two minutes. I have to leave it plugged in or it will die after ten seconds. Are you kidding me with this piece of junk?

BUENA RASURADORA
