Q: Are the plates included?

The plates included are spacer plates which weigh almost nothing. The weighted plates are sold separately. Please note that the handle weighs 15 pounds and the base weighs 5 pounds.

Q: What is the diameter of the existing plate? It looks like about 6”. I want to make sure I get other plates that don’t stick out too much from there.

I have the same product from Fitness Gear (Dick's Sporting Goods house brand) The spacers are 6 1/4" in diameter and 7/8" thick. The diameter matches the base plate of the kettlebell. The spacer dimensions match my 5 lb Weider standard plates. My Fitness Gear 5 lb plates are about 1/8" larger in diameter and slightly thinner.

Q: 50lbs is way to light, is there a version that can handle heavier weights?
