Weird Storyline
When suggested to Craig Halloran to create a unique story line for a new book, he shot for the moon. I have to say, he hit his mark with this crazy, bizarre story. I did not know what to make of it in the beginning. It was just weird and hard to wrap my head around the plot, but as I continued to read, I began cheering for one of the characters, for he was the only one with commonsense in the book. That was the hook that caught me. I was glued to the book and it pained me to put it down. Once you get over the initial shock of the story’s plot, I believe you will enjoy this book. I am off to read book 2!

Interesting Take on the Zombie Genre
The story starts off a little absurd, Zombies can be subdued my Mountain Dew. It then jumps forward to a time where zombie children are kept in maximum security 'day care' centers where a team work to find a cure. The tale is rather uneven, and jumps around a bit. The character that started it all is simply removed with no further effect on others until the final page, and even then it is nothing more than a side point in an attempt to round things off. Where the main storyline comes from is rather unclear. The story itself is well written, and moves forward at a good pace. There are several points that are simply introduced with no explanation or background. The issues that are raised are never expanded upon but rather repeated in a different word order. Still, it is easy enough to pick up the general tone and understand who is who.The biggest flaw were the two pages dedicated to the zombie. Written from a zombies perspective, they were unclear, and never used. Two, page long chapters were written like this, but then stopped. They were never broached again or used to any effect. I understand what the author was trying to do, but ultimately a little more effort would have been appreciated. There was very little action in the novel, and in theory could quite possibly have been removed altogether. With the merest of modification to a few scenes they were not really important. The read explains that he understand the concept is odd, and this in someway counteracts the absurdity. It was intentional. The story was 37,000 and a fun easy read. If you are looking for something a bit different, then this is it. I would certainly be interested in reading other work by the author. With a little bit of polishing, and some refining of story development, the makings are there for something very promising indeed.I picked this up for free from amazon, and would happily pay to read more work.

Review of Zombie Day Care
Zombie Day Care is interesting. It starts off as any predictable zombie fare, the world has gone to hell, zombies are eating everyone, no one knows how it started, and everyone is going to die. But then, one average joe stumbles across a 'cure'. Well not a cure really, but something that definitely helps the odds. Something that also leads to zombie 'day cares'. Sorry don't want to spoil too much.I liked the story. It gave a neat twist to the traditional zombie tale. Yes, the twist is kinda silly, but it's still fun. The characters were well written. Even supporting characters were given just enough detail to flesh them out, even the zombies! (No pun intended,ok well maybe a little bit intended.)The ending is a twist as well. It' s also a bit of a cliff hanger. You never really get to find out what's happened to all the characters. Amazingly it's not as annoying as it sounds. I guess that is due in part to the fact that this is only the beginning of the series, so one would hope that certain characters would reappear in further installments.Considering the ending and the fact that this is less a tale of zombie survival and more a tale of government cover up that involves zombies, I really have to say I enjoyed Zombie Day Care. There's a lot of background social satire in certain parts that had me laughing at the fact that I could see people actually arguing over zombie's rights and stuff. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a comedy, but the story doesn't get caught up in taking itself too serious.I definitely plan to pick up a copy of the next book in the series. I want to see what happens to some of the characters, as well as to the world in general since the zombie problem was far from fixed. I also want to see if the author's sarcastic wit still carries on through the series.

New twist on Zombies, I want it to be great
Running from zombies and figure out that there’s a caffeinated way to make them docile. I thought this story was interesting. There is a conspiracy involving the kid turned "rock star" who accidently figures out how to pacify the zombies. It kind of goes a bit wonky from there. A research facility where children of politicians and rich people store their kids while hoping for a cure. A reluctant hero crusader who is in over his head. Was it all a government plot to begin with? The secret agent assassins who pay the researchers drug addled brother to kill everyone in the daycare and then steal the cure kind of implies this.Okay, so this story is all over the place, but hey it was free and I have to admit I would like to know where the story is going. I have to believe that with this many plotlines hanging about there is some masterful way to tie it all in and have an amazing series. So this book got my interest, but I think the next one will have to be a bit less manic to keep me reading.

A different kind of zombie story
This is a well written, long, free zombie story. What more could you ask for? It has all the elements of a good story, from the initial outbreak and making of a hero, to secret government plots, secret government labs, some humor, murder, a little rated pg sex, and a bad guy who gets his in the end (I was so hoping for that!).This story appears to be a prequel to another story, but it actually stands alone well as its own story with a beginning, middle and end. This story has a good plot, which develops into other subplots as the story progresses.Mt. Dew as zombie thorazine, Mr. Halloran, you sir, are a genius!I will likely read more from this author.

Brilliant twist on zombie apocalypse.
I loved this book. It's so hard to find zombie genre novels that stand out. The words 'num num' will forever put a smile on my face. There's a brilliant and tremendously humorous twist to the usual zombie saga. The final scenes in the 'day care centre' are really well written and brought to life so vividly. I really hope they make a film of this book one day. Would love to see the story with the Hollywood special effects and make-up, because it has such a genuinely original twist to it. However, that said, it honestly is written so well, I can picture every character and every scene in my head without the need for the silver screen. Have to say it again, I loved this book. Would definitely recommend it for download.

Another fresh take on the Z theme
This short (37,000 words) novel has an interesting angle on the heavily saturated Zombie genre. What if there was a simple solution to calming down the zombies that doesn't actually cure them? Once the crisis is averted would people want their loved ones back? This surprisingly action filled tale deals with just that issue and a few more original slants too. Well worth the download.

Fantastic Storyline And Enjoyable Read
I liked it so much I actually paid out for Book 2 and will definitely follow suit with Book 3. Really enjoyed the development of the characters and general premise of the story. A great take on the zombie genre and mercifully a well proofread, eloquent author which is more than can be said for some of the free books I've downloaded.

Light and enjoyable
Although I felt this story would have been better served in a longer more detailed format, I really enjoyed the premise. What would humanity do after an outbreak if a control but not a cure was found. Would we keep searching for a cure. Would the zombies become the new slave race? Sadly I doubt humanity would learn any real lessons. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Brilliant!
Loved this book, some really good original ideas, so many zombie stories are the same but this story has it from a different angle. I seriously recommend it, brilliant book, can't wait to read the second part.
