easy to read
This thermometer is easy to read and seems more accurate than the set temperature on our kitchen aid oven.

easy to read
I have a new oven and wanted to check the temperature . I found that when the oven first said it was 450 it was actually 300. It took another 15 minutes to come to 450. After that it was totally accurate. Thermometer is very easy to read . I will be leaving it in the oven.

Good oven thermometer.
The recommended way to sanitize a coronavirus mask according to the co-designer of the NIOSH N95 mask is to expose it to 160 degree heat for 30 minutes. Put each mask in a paper bag and hang it so it doesn't touch the metal racks. Don't put the bags right over the heating elements. Keep them close to the thermometer since ovens are usually irregular. Most modern ovens can't be set below 170 degrees & even then will continue to rise to 200 unwatched. You have to keep the door cracked to keep adjusting to 160. Hover over the range for the 30 minutes, checking regularly and adjusting the cracked door to keep the temp at 160. A little to hot ruins N95 masks or shortens their reusability lifespan and not hot enough doesn't do the trick. This thermometer is large, easy to read and gives the temperature in 10 degree gradients - most give it in 25 degree gradients, which allows for too much error. During COVID - and for ordiinary oven baking(!) - this is a great product for the price.

Useful Oven Add-On for Our Situation
"Winco 3-Inch Dial Oven Thermometer with Hook and Panel Base"We moved into a new apartment and the roasted veggies that we love to eat disappeared. In their place was some sort of mushy mess. I bought this gadget to see what was up. Turns out the oven in this apartment kinda sucks. Set the temp at 400. Preheat buzzer sounds 10 minutes later. Winco tells me temp is 225 🤔. Winco tells me it takes 25 minutes to reach max. temp of 385. So-I have two problems. I now know to allow 25 minutes (sigh) for preheating and to set the temp higher than what is desired. The device is big so is easy to read. Black (below 350) or red numbers (350 and up) on a white background. To read it without opening the oven, I use a combo of the oven light with a high intensity flashlight. I hang it from the wire rack. I’d love to stand it up but it falls over it there is any movement of the shelf or baking pans. Roasted veggies are now delightfully carmelized and baked goods are rising as expected.

It Works But Falls Off Easily
I have three, an older one and this and another I just bought. They all show the same temperature in my oven. My oven is 5 degrees off so I needed to know for sure. I like the other one I bought, at the same time, because it does not fall over in the oven when you touch it while getting your food out or when pot holder touches it. It stays put. This one does not. Same with my old one - hated it because it was always falling over. The temperature is right though so I gave it four stars since it does what it is supposed to do.

Best Amazon Purchase To Date.
This just arrived this afternoon and I am sitting eating a perfectly cooked Spinach, tomato and goat cheese pizza! Not only am I not used to cooking with an electric oven at my new apartment but you cannot see how hot the oven is through the membrane controls which I thought I could still work with since I knew it started off at 350 and I was trying to count the beeps. Lol. Well let me tell you I completely ruined a pizza last week where the bottom looked golden and perfect but the top you couldn't tell it had cheese or pepperoni! After taking stock of the reviews on here i decided on this one and I think it's the BEST thing I have ever purchased yet! The pizza box said 425 for 12-14 minutes but something told me 8 minutes and I was right on the money.

this is inaccurate
I bought it because it was large. Easier to see and handle, but those things are meaningless if it is inaccurate, and it is off. I do not recommend this brand. I had 2 of another brand, so I put all 3 into my turned on oven. The 2 matching ones had the same temp as the oven, and this one was way off.An update, the seller refunded my money and was nice about it. I appreciate that.

Winco vs CDN.
Large. Easy to read dial which has a crisp white background. Most importantly the Fahrenheit markings show the temperature in 10° increments. Unlike many other thermometers which have intermediate hashtags at 25° intervals. The Celsius markings are on the inside and are smaller and are in 5° increments. I purchased this and the CDN thermometer CDN DOT2 ProAccurate Oven Thermometer-NSF Certified https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000095RC5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Wo-NybTJ492BH and both arrived today. The photo below shows how much larger and easier to read the Winco thermometer is. The CDN thermometer has a metallic background making it harder to read and the markings are in 25° intervals. As for accuracy, the thermometers both read very close to each other and indicate that my oven thermometer is registering about 20° low. Of these two thermometers I would thus choose the Winco.
