Classic Living Mattresses, Memory Foam, Queen (200 X 150)

One thing I am always suspicious of on Amazon are 5 star reviews. I usually gloss over them to see what people are really experiencing. If you look at bed reviews across the board on Amazon, you see about 70+% love the bed, and 15% or so had negative experiences. Take that for what it's worth. Now for the bed. I was really prepared to not like this bed as I haven't had a foam bed since the 70's. There were lot's of negative reviews for this bed, and I chalk it up to not everybody being pleased with it. Back to those percentages again. I'm a Vietnam veteran, and I am in pain much of the time. Beds I've had have not helped me much with the pain. Hips, back, even elbows. Pain keeps me awake many nights, and I have to take meds for pain, and to help me sleep. I am 350 lbs, and have lot's of joint problems, I had some friends come over to help me manhandle the heavy and cumbersome package. We opened the seal up on the vacuum seal, we were all were surprised and amazed by the bed almost inflating itself instantly. There was a sound like air whooshing into it! After reading many reviews of the bed taking many hours to right itself into the right size, I attributed it to every bed responding differently to locations and altitudes in transport and storage. There was one review here that I saw where a gentleman said that of it's nature, foam takes awhile when sleeping on it to go through several changes in firmness or support. I found this to be absolutely true. It has taken a few weeks of sleeping on it to find it's become unbelievably comfortable to me. I sleep on the left side of the bed, and as I would sleep a little more to the center, I found the center to be much more firm, uneven really... But, when I decided to put this theory to the test, I started to sleep in the middle, and yes, the foam feel became consistent with my usual sleep area. Now the middle sleeps like the left side, It really is very plush... to a certain level in the depth of the mattress, then it firms up about 3 inches down. I find it to be very soft to sleep in, while at the same time being firm enough to support me very well. I've slept all over the mattress now, and the bed feels consistent throughout. Also, this bed sleeps cool. I find the bed does not add or amplify heat at that 3" deep level I had mentioned. So the gelfoam is very cool. I've been sleeping well for the first time in years. I had spent well over 2 thousand on a support individual coil spring mattress, and hated it after a few months. With my weight, the coil bed springs just gave out. I would sink into it. Now for the truly unbelievable part. I have been getting great sleep for the first time in 10 years. I have actually cut down on my sleep meds, because I'm not fighting with pain that a bed usually adds to my pain level. And I am actually sleeping very well. My body feels very well rested, and for the first time in years, I'm not having as much back pain, awake or asleep. I haven't actually wanted to just lay there in my bed when I wake up for a long time, but do now cause I just want to enjoy the comfort a bit longer. I know, many of you have read front loaded 5 star reviews with the same cliche's before, like "sleeping on a cloud". Well, for me at least, it feels like sleeping on a cloud. If your considering buying this, remember, you could be in that 15 to 20% that it doesn't work for you, just like every other bed here. But for me, this one is a gem.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! We've spent a LOT of money on mattresses over the years but none compares to this bed that came in a box with 2 pillows. We even bought a sleep number bed & returned it. I stayed at my son's in-laws last month & slept like a baby on this mattress. I was so comfortable that I asked them for the details on the purchase and got a queen on a tremendous black Friday sale. I expected it to smell like the sleep number bed whose smell never went away. Not one foul smell. It did take a few days for it to fully inflate to 14" but, oh well! We just left it on the plastic it came in in the middle of our great room until it did its thing. When it's time to replace other mattresses, I will definitely be replacing them with this Cool Gel Chill Memory Foam. I'm amazed at how it goes back to it's regular shape. And I love my pillow as well. One of the best, major, large item, scary purchases I've ever made through Amazon!

Absolutely recommend this mattress. It was delivered quickly, easy to unbox and it is super comfortable. I have chronic pain issues in my neck, shoulder, lower back and hips and was truly miserable sleeping on my old mattress (and it's a good mattress, too) and have been sleeping on the couch for about a year now because I couldn't get comfortable for more than an hour at a time. My boyfriend also has a very laborious job (tile setter) and his neck and shoulder bother him quite often. Since we got this mattress, he no longer twitches like a sleeping dog in the middle of the night and I'm LESS of a rotisserie chicken (my pain is constant, never a zero). ANY reduction in my pain means it's a win. lol I recommend this bed if you have chronic pain issues.

This bed is so so comfy, and has helped with my back so much. I am only giving it a four star because it is advertised as "cool gel," but it gets SUPER HOT. Maybe there is an easy fix to this! Over all, i'm very happy.

UPDATE: 4 years later…. This is still the best mattress for me. No back pain. Still like new. Conforms to my body. It will indent some, (literally have had to turn it 2 times in 4 years) but all you have to do is turn it. And the indented part goes away. It’s truly the best mattress. I took a risk buying a lower cost mattress and I am so glad I did, better than any $1000.00 + mattress I have ever slept on. I bought the 10 inch for my daughter and she LOVES it. First purchase had a smell that went away (see below) but my daughters didn’t smell at all. All the luxuries of an expensive mattress for a much lower price. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ok, so my pics are of an unfinished bedroom, and a bed that I just painted white from black. So the bed only has sheets on it. As you can see, this mattress is 14 inches and is big. It's all of every bit of 14 inches and started rising before I could get it all of the way out of the plastic. It was at maximum within 5 minutes. The pillows... I LOVE. We bought an original box spring to go with it, and I have to raise my leg high and climb up in it. My dog cannot jump on it or get off by herself. I should have gotten a thin box spring, because now my mattress is way higher than the bedside tables. But I DO NOT CARE... I LOVE LOVE this mattress. The ONLY bad thing is the smell. The smell that came with mine was very strong, and even stronger in the pillows. So bad, I had to throw the pillows outside of my room to sleep. So tonight I will try to put the pillows in the dryer with softener sheets to see if that helps. I have slept on this mattress for 3 nights so far. I can tell a HUGE different. I have lower back pain, and bad hip pain that will shoot down my leg while sleeping. I have also been doing manual labor... and I thank god for this mattress, as I know my back would have been worse on my other mattress. If I lay on my back, it conforms to my back and feels great. If I lay on my side, I barely get hip pain. I don't toss and turn nearly as much in this. This is close to firm, but nothing like a firm mattress with coils would be. I have not noticed it being hot at all. And I live in Texas and it's mid summer. I just hope the smell goes away. It seems to slowly be going away. I probably should have not covered it right away and let it air out for a few days, but I just couldn't wait to get into it. I am so happy with this purchase. I feel like the regular price is steal, and I got it on prime day... which was even more of a steal. If I am already sleeping in this bed so well from day one.... I cannot imagine how much better it will get. I was worried being over weight (215) that it wouldn't support me as well... IT DOES! I feel like I am sleeping on a mattress that cost 5k. I would say (being that my hips are so bad) that this does well for pressure points. Pillows are kind of thin... but I like thinner pillows... and they seem very nice. Once the smell is gone, I will use them. Oh also.... mine is a queen... and I bought a queen box spring. The mattress is about 3-4 inches wider than the box spring is so I just centered it. I love that this mattress fills in the gaps on my bed. My pillow will no longer fall behind the mattress as I sleep. ***UPDATE*** The smell is still there. I had to put in a Fabrese plug in. I do not understand why this mattress still smells. It’s almost a mildew smell. I love this mattress. I’m not sure what to do with the smell. Sucks I took a star away for it. It still sleeps perfect and I enjoy getting into it. I just want the smell gone. ***ANOTHER UPDATE**** Smell is gone. It has taken a year or more for the smell to be completely gone. But worth it. I have had it for two years now and it’s amazing. Others posted is sags. I weigh a lot, not gonna lie, and mine doesn’t sag. It did indent a little, so I just turned it and it goes away. Nothing like a regular mattress that permanently indents. I still love this mattress and my back thanks me for getting it. It’s not soft, but soft enough. When you first get in, it feels firm, but the foam slowly confirms to your body and is great for back issues! Soft mattresses hurt my back. This mattress gives perfect support. People that got one that sink, got a lemon. This mattress is tough and holds its shape. I would buy again. And may for other rooms. I don’t use the pillows. Too soft. I had to buy Ikea contoured pillows. They work best for me. I have gotten hot on it, but I think it’s me and not the mattress (I’m 50) so I bought a Bedfan, and it solved my issues. Seriously .... worth it to buy this! Star has been given back too.
