Repel Plant-Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent, Mosquito Repellent, Pump Spray, 4 Ounce, (Pack of 2)

For those of you who would prefer a plant based extract rather than an industrially produced chemical repellent, this just might be the product for you. I had an infestation of no-see-ums (biting midges) in my home that were literally eating me alive; inflicting multiple itching bites all over my body that caused nasty welts that lasted for weeks. Repel goes on wet, thus allowing you to spread it around a bit before it dries—usually 5-10 seconds after it is sprayed on. I found it to be very effective in keeping away the little invisible flying vampires, as I did not receive a single bite on any of the exposed areas of skin to which this oil had been applied (I sprayed it on twice a day for several weeks before the problem abated) The oil dries completely and is non-greasy and invisible. It didn’t stain my clothing and kept the bugs at bay for at least 6 hours. However, unlike many chemical repellents on the market that are unscented, eucalyptus oil has an extremely powerful aroma that some may find objectionable—I do not mind it so this was not a factor in my purchasing decision. If I have one criticism, it would be that I would expect Repel to be available in larger sizes that would give me the opportunity to purchase at a volume discount—for instance pint or even quart containers as opposed to the rather small 4 ounce bottle that is to my knowledge the only option. People you hang out with my think that you own a pet koala, but this product works as advertised!

Tried this at a friends and bought my own bottle. i am a mosquito magnet. Anytime i’m outside i’m bitten multiple times. I have my yard professionally sprayed and still get bites. I’ve had this a week and when i have had it on, zero bites. And it’s DEET free. The smell is a little strong - keep it away from your mouth. But so far so good. Very promising stuff!

We used this during an extended trip in Thailand and Indonesia.A little spritz didn't seem to work. I'd get bites on my feet, elbows and knuckles.But if I sprayed it on heavily, whole body, it seemed to keep the biting bugs away. I was, however, heavily perfumed with eucalyptus. In enclosed places, that was a problem. Outside, not a problem. People stood upwind of me.It didn't last, though. The heavy dose would smell strongly for an hour or two, then dissipate. Then I'd scratch a bite on my knuckles or elbow. In fairness, it was hot and sweating probably washed it away from my skin.To note, my wife experienced slightly unpleasant tingling when she applied it to her skin. I did not.A good product, all in all, and I'd use it again.

I’ve tried just about every mosquito repellent out there, and this lemon eucalyptus version from Repel really surprised me. Works well for me on chiggers, ticks, and mosquitoes. No greasy feel. I would describe smell as strong lemon. Much prefer this smell over any of the deet based products that I’ve used. I also like the hand-sized pump bottle. Spray lightly and use hands to spread over exposed skin. After several weeks of use, hardly anything missing from bottle.

This repellent really works (and also smells good). It’s not greasy feeling, which I appreciate and makes it much more pleasant to use on a daily basis. Our area has been full of mosquitoes and we were getting eaten alive every time we went outside in our yard. This mosquito repellent is a winner and as a bonus it does not contain DEET. I highly recommend it.

I used this once and the lemon smell was so overpowering I stopped using it. The smell is like Pledge furniture cleaner and it doesn't dissipate. It seemed to work on keeping the bugs away though (and probably people, too!).

I have O-pos blood, and I am SWARMED by mosquitos when I go out. In 100 degrees heat I am in full sweats.I sprayed it on my gardening "Regalia" (sweats) and Zip!!! NO MOSQUITOES!!!! They started coming for my face, and I sprayed the inside of my garden hat... NO MOSQUITOES!!! I ordered 2 bottles, and on my second one. If I have to run out to water the garden, ILIGHTLY mist my skin, from an arm's length Recommend!!!!!
