Good quality and value
I cook these in my rice cooker on the brown rice setting. They take a while to cook so I put them in the night before on the timer and set it for my regular breakfast time.

Delicious oat groats to add to dog food.
Our beagle has lots of allergies/intolerances to food. We have been buying her kibble for a couple years before I looked at the ingredients. When I saw the about of junk that is being put into dog food, I decided to begin making my own. To be sure her nutritional needs are met, I began adding eggshell powder, cod liver oil, and these organic oat groats. They came packaged in a zip bag making it convenient to use and store! I love that they are organic too. I did not notice any dirt or mold like some people did. They were pretty clean. She doesn't even notice them in her food so they must taste good. It gives her soft food some bulk. It takes about an hour to cook the groats and it mixes right in. I've noticed her energy level is much improved. I'm glad I found it and it's not expensive. I only use about a cup in 2 pounds of organic beef. I will continue to buy this along with cod liver oil and eggshell powder to keep our girl healthy.

Good, but not for sprouting
These are good, but do NOT buy them for sprouting! You can't sprout these as they're hulled. You need unhulled oat berries that state they can be used for sprouting.

Would be better...
Nothing wrong with this product great for savory dish or breakfast. I like the fact that you can cook longer or less to get the desired mouth feel that you want. Especially like this as a side dish with mushroom and or grilled veggies mixed in. A meal in itself. I can make up a plain batch and have warmed for breakfast by adding cream, fruit, nuts. Good chewy texture. Keeps me satisfied.

Good value for a good breakfast
These are very good. I soak one cup of groats with three cups of water overnight in the fridge. Next morning, low boil /simmer uncoverd IN THE SAME WATER for approx 15 minutes, turn off heat, cover and let sit for 20 minutes or so. Groats are tender/nutty, terrific ! Add some pieces of apple, pineapple, banana, whatever and enjoy. Filling and supposed to be healthy.

Many unhulled oats ruin smooth texture of creamy groats
I have now bought a half-dozen or so bags of this product, so obviously it's good, but something keeps occurring that's wrecking these groats for me: there are so many unhulled oats. I soak them for 6 hours before cooking them for approx. 8 hours in a crockpot on low heat, with 4 parts water to 1 part oat groats. The result is creamy and great, except for having an unhulled groat in almost every bite! The contrast between the creamy groats and the groats still with hulls is extremely jarring, because the oats with hulls feel like sandpaper to your teeth. After the 6 hr. soak I vigorously rub them against the screen I use to drain them, and that does not get the ones still with hulls to release their hulls. I asked Perplexity.ai "how are oats hulled on a commercial scale to produce oat groats?" and discovered getting oat hulls off is very complex, so whatever company is doing the dehulling needs to improve their process.
