Confused
I dont understand why Amazon posts these reviews before the product has actually hit players hands. There is one here from somebody ranting about Obama and another from somebody who just hates games in general it would appear. At least some of the other stores dont allow this kind of nonsense. With the above said, let me now give my opinion on the game itself now that I have actually spent some time playing it:On a scale of 1-10 the difficulty level is an 8 or 9 as compared to Call of Duty. If you attempt to collect the items etc, and not just run through the game.If you watch the movie Aliens then you will notice that the action is on a crazy level. I mean there are no "snipers", the aliens just are everywhere and that accounts for why everyone except 3 die. The game plays like the movie in that you fire thousands of rounds yet there are more and more aliens. The graphics are not great yet not bad. The movie itself is dark and not really detailed itself. So again it emulates the movie.Overall its a fun game that I think is as close to being in the actual film as you could get. The action is frantic and overwhelming at times. If you like Aliens then its worth what it cost. If you are getting this game just to compare it to the other games out there then you will feel like its a waste of money. Overall I am happy with it. ITS JUST A GAME!

A True Collector's Edition
I have to split this review in 2 parts, one is the packaging for the game and the other is the actual game. The Packaging: The Collector's Edition comes in a quite large box that shows off the figurine of a Colonial Marine using a Power Loader against an Alien, after you open it you come across the game and several other collectible pieces. Its a very nice package and definitely worth it for the Aliens fans. The Game: Sadly the game is a different story. While not particularly bad its not particularly great either, the game could have been so much more with a few more months of polish. It feels weird to say this game needed more time to get polished because its been in development for a few years so the final quality of the product leaves a lot to be desired. My final verdict for the game itself is a 7 out of 10 for the Collector's Edition packaging and additional material its a definitive 10.However, I do not feel the price I payed for the overall package is worth it so if you are interested in this edition wait until its price goes lower, get it if your an Aliens fan only.

Dont believe the BS, game is fun
Ok so its not great, but if your a fanboy or girl of the aliens universe than you will love it. The storyline is weak, kinda butchers the original story, as well as not making any sense. I wont go into much detail but the basic premise of the game has you going back to LV-426 ( the site of the original aliens movie) to investigate what happened to the marines and why the Sulaco has returned to Acheron. The most glaring problem for me is that the entire installation should have blown up, and it looks remarkably put together when you get there. I wont say anymore but if you can deal with that and various other plot holes and just plain stupid twists than you will enjoy the game. The multiplayer is the standout, being both fun and frustrating. There are 4 modes to choose from and all offer a different set of challenges. Team deathmatch is as advertised but it is my favorite mode because it actually balances the marine and the alien. The other 3 modes make the marines almost otherworldly in the amount of damage they can take while the aliens will die from a slight breeze.Overall I stick to my statement, if you like the universe than pick this up, if your not into the aliens universe than this game is not for you.

Not as bad as everyone thinks
I don't normally leave a review but I feel it I must give this game some positive feedback. I ended up getting the collector's edition for $27.00 free shipping. The figure is nicely detailed as shown. I do wish it was Ripley in the loader but a marine is just fine. When I loaded the game up there was an update. I have been playing it for about 4 hours now and I must say I am pleased with the game. The problems people say with the AI, both team mates and bad guys/Aliens, I have yet to see. The two characters with me are firing their weapons like they should along with flanking at times. The enemy AI also does the same to me. There were a few times I did not see someone flank me only to be shot in the back. The game is very intense like the movies. Walking the halls with the tracking going off. Not knowing where I was going to be attacked from. The graphics do look like a first year xbox 360 game but what do you expect from this being in development for so long. It's not the worst or best looking game out the. I would give it a 7 out of 10 for looks. If you are a fan of the movies and you can get this game cheap I would pick it up. There is also DLC online one with tells the back story to a character from the movies. People who say there is no story are not picking up the audio logs laying around. There is a story you just need to find it. All in all I would rate this game 8 out of 10.Update 10/7/13: I just completed the game and one DLC called stasis interupted. Anyone who has this game should play this DLC. Explains alot. My views on the game has not changed. With the update I had no problems playing this game. It took me 12 hours to be the campaign and 4 hours for the DLC. It was very fun to play. Action packed. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the movies.

Cheap purchase for statue.
So once again here is another Black Friday purchase to get the statue that comes with the collector's edition. Never played the game and am not a big FPS gamer in general either. Have heard many things about the game being really crappy and that many people got together to bring a class action lawsuit against Sega and the developer of the game because the demo that showcased the game was not the game released. Many felt cheated in that they were given a false game demo to trick them into buy this finished product as well as pre-ordering it when they expected a game based on the demo they had played. I may never play the game, but the Aliens knock off statue is pretty damn cool. Wish they would of placed Ripley in the dock loader with the alien grasped in the clamp claw. But I am sure there would of been some licensing issue with using Sigourney Weaver's likeness that would require her approval and payment to do so as well. Overall I believe I paid between $25 and $30 for this instead of $99 at my local Walmart.

Review of the contents and not the game - Buy it for statue
Since this is a collectors edition, this is a review on what you get inside instead of the game itself because you're buying this for the extras. The collectors box is nice with a plastic sleeve over a cardboard box. The box is 91/4" H x 71/4" W x 7" D. You get the game in a standard DVD case with 2 game add-on download extras such as flamethrower, playable characters from the original Alien film, and an additional level. Items you get in a classified folder are 2 badges, a polaroid photo, an old style printout of a mission briefing, a nice foldout diagram of the USS Sephoria starship, and a certificate. The final item you get is the power loader statue and the main reason you might want to pick this up. Even though you may not like the game, you might want to buy this just for the statue if the price is low enough. The statue is 71/4" H x 5" W x 41/4" D. Not a large statue but if you look at the photos there is a lot of details in this statue and overall it looks great. Nothing moves in the statue, but the cables on the back are flexible.

Powerloader pvc statue is great, game was borderline ass.
The game wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the pvc statue was awesome. At times it looked more like an original xbox game, not something that came out at the tail end of the 360's life cycle. When you can play Crysis 2 which looks gorgeous for what it's run on, this game was a bust.

Worth the buy
Game was not well received by the public, but it's not so bad really. It's like a budget Call of Duty with Aliens and Dude-Bro action shooter awesomeness, as well as many references to the movie. So much nostalgia. The statue is of average quality and looks good on my mantel piece.
