Healthy and Beautiful!
The plant arrived well packaged and healthy. I was a bit worried because of a few mixed reviews. I did cut off a few brown tips so the plant could focus it's energy on the healthy parts. I always expect at least a little plant struggle with an environment change...whether that's from inside to outside, outside to inside, local nursery to a home, different room in house with different light, etc. No one would know that this was tossed around and in a box for quite a few days. The shipper did deliver it to my porch on it's side. I was a little worried opening it. Some soil was spilled inside the box, bit not enough to get up and around the leaves. It will need to be repotted very soon as the planter is in very rough shape, but I'm going to let it settpe into the temp and lighting of my house for a couple of days. The seller clearly marks the box with "live plant", "this side up", and a cute little note that is supposed to be from the plant asking for help and for soneone to unbox it. So, it's frustrating that the shipper delivered it on it's side. It has abput ten healthy leaves. The shortest one being about 12 inches tall and the tallest being about 30 inches tall. So pretty!

2 Months Later - Still Gorgeous!
I'm someone who loves plants, but I've never had one for fear of accidentally killing it. I now live in a location where not a lot of light is able to get into my house and I also have a cat so when I saw this type of plant was every list I looked at with those specifications I decided to take a shot. It arrived nicely packaged with a bamboo stick for stability, no bugs in soil, and no damage to leaves or stems. Only complaint with packaging is that the pot was not deep enough so some roots were exposed and also the binding made all the leaves bend a certain direction which I have slowly been trying to fix without damaging anything (as I said before, I am a new plant mom and maybe there is a trick to fixing this but I'm not sure!) I immediately repotted it into an 8 inch pot and I'd recommend getting one that's a bit deeper because as I mentioned before, the roots actually take up quite a bit of space. For care, I inserted plant food spikes into the soil and water it whenever the soil feels dry which is typically once a week for me. 2 months later and this plant is still growing strong! It has many new chutes and I actually just repotted it again into a 10 inch pot, which I believe will last for a long time now. Overall, I highly recommend this plant for everyone but especially for those who are like me and were always afraid of killing a plant, this is a super resilient plant! I also recommend this company, I was impressed with the condition and size of the plant.

Healthy plant, but delivery was questionable
The plant appeared healthy with no pests and the foliage was a healthy green. But, when I got the plant, the soil was very dry, and it had loosened around the roots causing bare root exposure for about 1/2 the root system. Despite this unhealthy situation of the roots, my immediate planting the root ball in fresh soil and heavy watering and the plant seems to be doing OK. I've not seen any new growth, but the present leaves are holding their own. I don't know how easy it will be to care for this plant despite the claim that it thrives on neglect, but so far no problems seen. With all plants that I bring into my home I spray them with an insecticidal soap insecticide and keep it covered under a large clear plastic garbage bag to eliminate any lurking pests that aren't initially seen. I'm now starting the third week of this process after getting the plant and it seems to be doing OK.

Plant looks great, remember to open it outside
The plant looks very nice and quite tall. The roots are thick and healthy looking, and there are several new leaves growing in. The pot definitely got squished during shipping, but the plant seems to have survived just fine. Just don't be like me and remember to open the package outside. Before ordering I read other reviews and saw people mentioning a lot of dirt coming out of the box when opening it, but of course in my excitement of receiving my plant in the mail I forgot and opened it inside. Needless to say I had a dirty mess to clean up.

This company is serious about customer service!
This beautiful cast iron plant (Aspidestra) arrived so fast, and I WAS AMAZED by how beautiful it is! Stupendous value for the price; this 6 inch pot arrived with 9 perfectly gorgeous healthy leaves. The packaging was so thoughtful and secure. There was no damage to the plant. I bought this as a gift for my plant-challenged daughter-in-law who requested low-maintenance plant for Christmas. This one is a bit difficult to find in local shops. She will love this. What's more, I may have to buy one for me! (Don't tell my partner! "What, another plant!")

Worried...Doesn't seem like the healthiest, but it's tall and pretty
I took a chance in ordering this Cast Iron Plant online because the plant nurseries in my city do not have this specific one. After all the research i've done on plants, the Cast Iron Plant is said to be an indestructible plant especially for people who are beginners or have a brown thumb. I waited weeks, close to a month and hoped I would get a healthy plant with a lot of leaves. Well, this has about 16 leaves and it's pretty tall, which i was excited about. HOWEVER, as you can see by the photos, some of the leaves are unhealthy; some are yellow and brown, one looks scorched and thin, about 2 or three others feel brittle and cracked. I'm conflicted because I assume this is probably a good deal for $24.99. It is a very pretty plant. I just wish it had been in healthier condition. The plant came in a long box and i'm going to assume it was jostled around during transport because the container the plant came in was broken when it arrived (see photos). It's best to purchase plants in person if you want to be sure of you're getting better quality.

Plant was healthy and was appropriately packed.
The plant was well-packed and arrived in perfect shape! This type of plant is also called "the cast-iron plant" because it's so hardy. (If you've ever watched Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, this plant often appeared in it. Almost every time you saw a plant in that series, it was one of these.)
