perfect drying rack
Love this drying rack! It is very sturdy. My old rack was always half falling over, or the little bars would come out, or clothes would be stuck in the middle and take a while to get dry. This rack will never fall over! The middle bars (where the clothes dry) are moveable - at first I thought this was odd, but now it makes total sense. You can push the bars to one end to allow some room to drape the clothes on a bar, then move the next bar over. It also allows thicker clothes or towels to be dried without squeezing them between tiny bars. The bars are sturdy and thick so they do not leave indentations in your clothes. The two wings on either side are perfect for bigger items or for items on hangers. Sweaters can be placed flat on the top of the rack and they dry quickly with such good air circulation. I never thought I'd be excited about a drying rack, but this solves so many of the annoying issues with other racks. Highly recommend!

Functional but flawed.
I'm an architect and I love OXO products because they're usually thoughtfully designed. This one is great in some ways- it holds a full load of laundry, fold up easily, and is sturdy. There are two things that I don't like though. One is that it's too wide to fit into my standard size bathtub. Second flaw is that one of the plastic feet fell off almost immediately after the first use. We were unable to reattach it.We avoid using a clothes dryer all year, and in the winter when we can't hang clothes outside, we use this rack almost exclusively. Because it doesn't fit into the bathtub, it cannot be used for hand washables. So although we still find it useful for machine washed clothes, it has annoying limitations.

Was on the fence, but glad I bought it
I couldn't decide if this was worth the money. I had another drying rack (one that criss-crossed like the Whitmor or Home Essentials), but am very glad I upgraded to this one. With the others, it's difficult to access the inner bars when there are clothes already on other bars, and inevitably clothes on the lower rungs drag on the floor. The one I had was also flimsy and might get knocked over by the wind if put outdoors. The pros of the OXO rack:- very sturdy, can also hold larger items like furniture slipcovers.- bars are good diameter - don't leave a noticeable crease in clothing.- sliding bars make it easy to add / hang clothes.- good height for hanging pants/jeans.Other reviews are correct that the 2 bars that fold out for hanging hangers do not extend quite far enough, but this isn't a big issue for me as I'm not hanging that many hangers. I just angle them away slightly and it works fine.I subtracted one star because it still seems a bit over-priced, but I would still buy it again and am glad I upgraded.

arrived broken
ordered this drying rack because it is made by OXO. all oxo products we own have lasted forever. this product arrived broken: the band to keep it together when folded was broken. not a big deal, but pretty crappy. the white mechanism on the small foldable extensions are cracked in two places. although new: it looks already crappy: will not keep this for long and looking for replacement that is better made.

TOO SHORT!
I'm so sad to say that this rack has a critical flaw as far as I'm concerned; IT'S TOO SHORT!Every shirt touches the ground when it's hung up. Forget pants or dresses. I had no idea it was so short and I'm so disappointed!!!

Not a Laundry Drying Rack -- A Laundry Drying Center
I have been using my Oxo Good Gripe - Laundry Drying Center (LDC) that I ordered from Bed Bath and Beyond for $69.99 plus over $10.00 shipping and handling for at least a month. The drying center is sturdy, well designed and high quality. The outer racks extend as pictured for clothing on hangers, but also, the side rods can take hangers as well. Interior rods slide to accommodate clothing. The height eliminates stooping. On sunny days, I place LDC on patio with clothes that I never put inside dryer and this cuts down drying time. There is no wobbling and no fear of it falling over. I am expecting delivery of my second one from Amazon.com for the same price with free shipping. After telling my mother about the Oxo Good Gripe - Laundry Drying Center, she is expecting delivery on March 4. This definitely isn't a Drying Rack but a wonderful Drying Center. I highly recommend this item.

Meh
I like the design of this rack. But there is a flaw in the design. The hangar bars on the sides have a crack at the pivot point where it folds in. In fact I returned the first one because it was broken. I decided to keep the second one despite the cracks because I will keep it up all the time. If you were to be folding the rack to store it when you are finished using it, I would not recommend this.

but the opening and closing mechanism is not the best. As you can see the leg of this ...
It works for hanging clothes and flat dry, but the opening and closing mechanism is not the best. As you can see the leg of this product is quite long, and when open/close, it swing out pretty fast and one time it hit my toe, so so painful. I have been very careful ever since, but thought this is a part where it can improve.
