Athena Leila 2 Drawer Changer, Espresso

Item arrived a couple days later than expected. It was packaged very well, but was heavy. The quality of the items is good, but it is NOT wood - it's veneer. My husband put it together in about 30 minutes and the majority went together fine, but the top drawer did not fit properly. My husband had to lower the interior track wheel in order to make the drawer fit right. My major complaint though - the stickers that came on were a nightmare to get off. Please note, these stickers are also located on every piece of the furniture as they are used to help the buyer assemble it. The final method we had to use for getting the sticker glue off left some damage on the veneer. Overall, this product is okay.

I should have read the actual reviews before purchasing instead of looking at the stars only. This piece of furniture is extremely low quality. As from the photos you can see that the quality of the “wood” is cheap and damaged. The instructions were not clear on which way to orient parts. Many of the holes did not line up. There were cracks in the “wood” where the screw attached the rail to the drawer. The holes where dowels go in to attach the divider to the top of the dresser did not line up, and there weren’t holes for dowels on the outside edges of the dresser. The drawers do not open smoothly. The color is not espresso, it is more chestnut. I am very disappointed for spending $150 on such a poorly made changing table. I spent nearly 4 hours putting it together where it should’ve taken less than an hour. I “made” it fit together which is why it took so long. Would love to get some kind of credit, but no way to contact them other than starting a return- which isn’t an option at this point.

I love this changing table. It's sturdy with a beautiful finish and looks great in my son's nursery. The table has generous sized drawers and I added expresso baskets in the cubby holes for discreet storage. Many of the other changing tables at this price point use plywood and are cheap looking but this table uses real wood parts which enhance the expresso stain and increase its sturdiness. And that makes me feel good about using it for my baby. The order arrived quickly (in a 70 lbs box) to my home. The only con is there are a lot of pieces so it took hours to put together. But the instructions were good and it was worth the wait!

We ordered this changer to match nursery furniture from a different collection. I was worried about whether the color would match or if the quality would be good, since the piece is relatively inexpensive. We were extremely pleased. Not only is the color true to the picture online, but the quality was very good. The drawers are thick, solid wood, and it was very easy to assemble. The thing that impressed us most is that rather than just putting all of the pieces in bubble wrap and dumping them in one large box, the pieces were group in small quantities and sealed in separate cardboard containers inside the package. I've never seen that before and it ensured that the furniture arrived undamaged. Also - you should know that this company plants a tree for each tree that their factory cuts down for furniture and there is an insert inside the package to explain that. We were extremely pleased and would highly recommend this piece. Once assembled, it was very sturdy and looked perfect in our nursery.

I was looking for a changing table that seemed like it would hold up my kid but not be too terribly expensive since I wasn't buying a permanent piece of furniture, and this fits the bill. We've been using it for a couple months, and I have never once worried about it wobbling. One piece came slightly damaged, and the company's customer service (reached through email, not phone) sent me a new piece immediately (after I sent them a picture of the damage), very well wrapped! I was a little worried about the height of the open areas, and they are very large, but they work perfectly for me to set the wipes in a wipe warmer on one side and an easily accessible stack of diapers on the other. The two drawers contain all the backup diapers in their bags (purchased in bulk) and the extra packages of wipes.

It is a good product, but it is hard to put together. You need to have done something like this before. If you have not done a build at home item before... dont count on the directions. They read like stereo instructions. The top drawer sticks a little bit but nothing that makes me stress out. Good product over all, solid, heavy and durable, just need a degree in engineering to assemble.

For the price I paid, I didn't expect something that was of exceptional quality but definitely better than this. This says Espresso, but is closer to a cherry than espresso. The panel for the drawer bottoms can't possibly hold more than a few baby clothes, they are very flimsy. The worst part though is the stickers, especially the warning one seen in the picture on the inside of changing table rim. I get that they are likely required to put the sticker on there, but make it a sticker that we have a prayer of removing. I probably would've even considered leaving it there, but the number of misspelled words and bad grammar made that impossible. Besides, once I started peeling one corner, it was too late. It removes the shallow, faux veneer so I was committed at that point. So if you aren't ready to have the ridiculous sticker permanently on the dresser, do not buy this! The photo illustrates the aftermath. I used a marker to color the particle wood. I will say that the instructions and assembly were very easy to follow and use. Obviously two different locations wrote the warning and assembly instructions.

Bring your patience and quite a bit of time to assemble this. You'll basically want to do it in an empty room because you have to lay everything out, it takes a lot of space. It would be much easier to do with two people, although I did it by myself. Lots of pieces, but looks and feels fantastic when it is complete. I got all the pieces, although getting rid of all the packing materials was another big task. Make room in the recycling bins before you assemble!
